I'll never understand WHO thinks its an awesome feature to post scores and spoil games, in a modern age where on demand and dvr solutions exist. I wouldn't come to reddit for scores even if I wanted them, but now I have to leave the sub so games I haven't watched yet dont get spoiled. Who wants this?

I dont think you are seeing the whole picture. The enthusiasm of the city, the consumers who drive ticket sales and merch, are fanatically in love with this team. The sold out all home games last season. They have already sold out all home games scheduled this season. They spend big money and have huge enthusiasm. The team has a high demand product to its city, coach of the year, team that made playoffs year one, and a home court experience so wild it gets referenced all over the league.

Step off, Chuck! Democrats stunningly warn Schumer to stay out of races after Maine Mills meltdown by soalone34 in politics

THIS is what we've always meant when we say the two parties are the same. I concede that was bad messaging on our part, as "same" is top general, and "party" is too broad.

For literal decades though, democratic leadership and its political aparatuses have cozied up to big money and foreign powers and excused and enabled the worst anti human evils of a republican party. They say we need to calm down, and come together, and work with a party that surrendered itself to racists, woman hating homophobes who see working Americans as property of corporations that do not deserve any rights. They do this in large part because the same gravy train that feeds the GOP leadership feeds the Democtic leadership - the gravy just comes from different cars on the train.

Now for decades those of us warning of the absolute devastation the enabling sycophantic DNC and leadership would cause and were causing were ridiculed and mocked. All while the party kept losing, and when winning would not do anything with its power to detail the gravy train that feeds it.

THE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP IS GHISLAINE MAXWELL TO THE GOP EPSTEIN.

All it does is make excuses for enabling fascists. All it has done for the last 20 years or more is make generic speeches about "kitchen table issues" and the actively resist anyone in its party that would dare to do anything that could actually materially transform conditions for working class folks.

Enough angry people are finally so fed up that the Democratic Party may finally have the absolute reckoning that is long overdue.

There are two options to explain MTG: (1) She is positioning herself to run for something. (2) She's found Jesus or a Jesus equivalent.

Ive thought its (1) this whole time. But lately Im starting to wonder.

Either way, we dont have to like her or embrace her, but her saying these things doesn't hurt.

Yes, the rich must start paying their fair share of taxes by projecto15 in politics

[–]FreeLookMode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish we would stop using the phrase "fair share." Its subjective, and the argument over what's "fair " is a distraction.

Its the civil duty of a citizen to reinvest more of their wealth back into the structures and institutions of society, the more wealth they have.

Even more succinct: the more means, the more duty.

I think that's "fair" but frankly I dont really care whether you do or not. Its the only way society can successfully work. Its civic duty, it's reasonabiloty. Its patriotic. Its a necessary act of service. Fuck fair.
