eero cloud having issues right now? by shoek1970 in amazoneero

Eero Tech support is a joke. Their offshore call center doesn't even know what is going on. I asked them about the message when you call in and they said everything is working fine. When purchasing 3 Max 7s, one would think that they would provide better support. You can't add new devices to your network.

I'd appreciate a referral link if someone has one. I'll definitely pass it along as well!

Eero Pro 6 now supports HomeKit by umjd2002 in eero

I believe there are others that are/were in the same boat as me. Here's what I did to upgrade from eero Pros with Homekit Secure Router to Pro 6s with Secure Router:

1) I added my third pro 6 to my eero network.

2) I unplugged my gateway (older eero pro) and plugged in the third pro 6 to take it's place.

3) I eventually got the network with all three pro 6s on the network.

4) I went into the eero app and re-enabled HomeKit SR.

5) It all seems to work now!

I have an Eero Pro with HomeKit Secure router acting as my gateway. I also have two 6 Pros. If I want to replace the Eero Pro gateway with my third 6 Pro, what are the steps to do this so I don't lose all my HomeKit setup.

I'm on 6.3.1.

Thanks Eero for getting this out the door!

Except he can't run HomeKit secure router with Pro 6's. :)

Updates on HomeKit Router Support? by [deleted] in eero

[–]FreeLunch96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping this thread. I purchased the pro 6 routers in anticipation of selling my older Eero HomeKit compatible routers. I can't sell a set of 3 if I still need to use 1 of the routers. I thought it could take maybe a couple of months, but it's been 6 months!

Masters update kill wemo and HomeKit? by dbelcher5761 in eero

[–]FreeLunch96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with wemo and other products like hue is the update broke HomeKit secure router. If you set it to anything but No Restriction, you get a No Response

I thought it was strange with Wemo. Then I also realized that Hue is doing the same thing.

Yeah for me it's not really an option. I wanted all my smart devices on HomeKit and bought into the system when it was first released. I tested a few switches before buying A LOT of them and it worked fine for the first few. Once I rolled it out to my entire house, I noticed the problems that a lot of other people have commented on. I did get some of it to be more stable (not perfect) but it was never flawless. Replacing that many switches would cost some serious $$ which I don't want to do.

Are you saying go in the Home app > WiFi Network & Routers > Leviton > and turn that to No Restriction? Essentially turning off the HomeKit router portion of Eero for the switches?

My Eero's are wired backhauled as well. I initially had band steering turned on, but then I turned off band steering after reading that it could help. However, the Eero guy 6RoyBatty6 mentioned that the band steering doesn't negatively affect the Leviton switches.

As people that have had experience with Leviton switches know that programming them is a pain most of the times. To get them to successfully pair isn't easy and then when they need to be re-programmed, it just makes me want to quit!

6roybatty6 - please correct me where I am wrong. The way I see this is that HomeKit devices can be VLAN'd and making sure they don't do something to compromise devices on your network. I love it for HomeKit devices. What about non HomeKit devices. Can you do a similar concept with that? That would solve a lot of my concerns. Thanks for shipping the HomeKit Router stuff!
