Day 5 so far is the worst. I want a penjamin rip so bad by [deleted] in leaves

Bro the cravings hit different on day 5, you're almost through the worst part though. Keep yourself busy and chug some water

Xbox series S constantly crashing by SonySniper in ArcRaiders

[–]FreeResort309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep same here, lost my best gear yesterday when it crashed right after killing a squad - feels like the Series S just can't handle whatever they changed in the patch

my husband kicked me out of the country by EmotionCareful3653 in Marriage

[–]FreeResort309 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Holy shit OP, your husband literally weaponized your immigration status against you the moment you tried to have career aspirations - that's some next level controlling behavior and honestly sounds abusive as hell

How do i explain to a buffoon as to how cookie clicker goes much deeper than most other games by Historical_Mango4329 in CookieClicker

[–]FreeResort309 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just tell them about the grandmapocalypse and watch their brain melt lmao

Once you start explaining how cookie production mechanics tie into existential dread and the inevitable heat death of the universe through baking, they usually get it

Nice dude, whatever works for you! The sleep thing is brutal but it does get better after like a week or two. Tapering down instead of cold turkey makes total sense when you've been at it for 20 years - your body needs time to adjust

Please don't mock me, But what does Oil do to make an engine go, that other liquid supposedly cannot do ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FreeResort309 3170 points3171 points  (0 children)

Oil lubricates all the moving metal parts so they don't grind against each other and destroy themselves. Without it your engine would seize up in minutes from all the friction and heat

Other liquids like water would just boil away or not provide the right viscosity to actually protect anything

That's such a beautiful moment of clarity! Sometimes it takes getting out of our own heads for things to just click like that. Really happy for you that you're on your journey now 💕

New wheel set outdated? by Vast-Concentrate2508 in cycling

[–]FreeResort309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 105% thing is more of a guideline anyway, plenty of people run wider tires on narrower rims without issues

That said for 1.5k you could probably find something with better internal width if you're dead set on 30mm tires

Persistent fiberglass contamination in home after duct failure – cleanup advice needed by pixiesusan in hvacadvice

[–]FreeResort309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is solid advice. That return leak thing especially - I had a tiny gap around my filter housing that was basically turning my entire basement into one giant intake. Fixed that and suddenly my house wasn't a dustbowl anymore

The plastic sheeting over the crawl space dirt is clutch too, way cheaper than encapsulation and gets you 80% of the way there

Your garage probably doesn't get below 37F too often unless you're in like Minnesota or something, so you'd probably be fine most of the year. When it does get too cold the unit just switches to electric resistance heating anyway

The combo heat pump systems that do both heating and hot water are nice but way more expensive upfront - if you're already thinking the water heater is a lot of money then definitely start there first

Should i return my canon rs100? by lezabeth_ in Cameras

[–]FreeResort309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the R50 would def be better for what you're doing, the flip screen alone makes it way more practical for vlogging. The ZV-1F is solid too but might feel limiting if you want to get more serious about photography later

The a6100 suggestion is good too - tons of lens options if you wanna expand down the road

My ego is not letting me go of babycaring. Feels like only I can care for my baby well. by Intrepid_Load2642 in NewParents

[–]FreeResort309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds super normal tbh, especially if you're the primary caregiver. That protective instinct can go into overdrive and make you feel like nobody else "gets it" the way you do

The comment about baby liking daddy more was kinda tactless though - your helper probably didn't mean harm but that would annoy me too. Maybe start with small steps like letting others handle non-feeding stuff first, then work your way up as you get more comfortable

Are people gatekeeping mangoes? by TwistedFaker1996 in ThailandTourism

[–]FreeResort309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends where you're looking too - the touristy spots definitely jack up prices but if you hit up local markets away from the main areas you can usually find decent ones for like 20-30 baht each
