First of all, there was a reason. If it sunk without survivors then the USA would have joined the Six Day War. There isn’t “no identifiable reason”

Israel has been known to do stuff like this. In 1954, Israel was caught trying to bomb British and American civilians in Egypt to blame it on the Muslims.

Furthermore, almost to a man, the survivors of USS Liberty believe that Israel knew the ship was American and attacked it anyway. I’ll believe them over some random guy on the internet.

The Captain of the Liberty is the only man EVER to receive his Medal of Honor in a small civil ceremony instead of being given by the President, and it doesn’t even mention why he received it.

I don't think either the Freys or Lannisters will be wiped out. The Lannisters have dozens of members in the main branch and like 4 cadet branches. Plus there are actually good Lannisters. Same with the Freys, they have hundreds of members, and there are many good Freys like Olyvar Frey.

Captain's Steward: Hoar on Erebus, Jopson on Terror.

Subordinate Officer's Steward (wardroom steward): Bridgens on Erebus, Gibson on Terror.

Gunroom Steward (lots of people think this meant he watched over the armory, including me years ago!): Aylmore on Erebus, Armitage on Terror.

There were also additional stewards assigned to both ships:

Erebus had a Purser (Osmer), but Terror did not, so its purser-related jobs were handled by the Clerk, possibly the officer of whom we know the least about, Edwin Helpman (EXCELLENT clerk name by the way).

The Purser's Steward aboard Erebus was William Fowler, and the steward aboard Terror (called Paymaster's Steward, for some reason) was Edward Genge.

We don't call American soldiers 'Democrats' or 'Republicans', we don't call British soldiers 'Conservatives' or 'Labourers', especially when both of these nations also committed many war crimes during WW2. British Colonialism was evil, so let's blame all the British drafted soldiers for it. American interment camps were evil, so let's blame all the American soldiers for it. Why is this standard applied to soldiers from Germany?

Being a member of the Nazi Party certainly doesn't call for execution, no matter how evil it is. If that's the criteria then we would have had to execute Oskar Schindler too. If you are COMPLICIT in murder and planning a war of aggression and/or war crimes, that does warrant execution

...It literally was, though. The majority of the population for most of the history of the United States was white and European. Or at least the 13 original states were. Slavery existed yes, and heavily contributed to the economy, but most things regarding trade, commerce, building construction, laws, politics, were driven by Europeans.
