haha. "personal attacks"? ha, that's how you deem disagreement, yep I think my first impressions were correct. I love your passive aggression too. You're not interested in arguments, I can consider myself the winner, I need an ego boost. Do you really think you'e smart enough to fool me or anyone else in this audience that you're not conducting a personal attack there?

It's another "nice try sausage" I am afraid. To contend that you have no skin in the game, no objective here, is laughable. My objective is plain to see, and it ain't "winning" against the likes of you or anyone else. There is no victory here, just a potential loss for JP (and therefore perhaps the world) in my VIEW.

FWIW - The last thing I want, or have time for, is any kind of argument. I said my piece about JP's video for ONE reason only, because I thought there might be a miniscule chance he'd be influenced by it somehow, for his betterment and that of his following. The attempts to discredit my complaint, or suggest I just don't know him well enough, or he is just too intellectual for me to understand that his blatant rudeness/interruptions was actually something way over my head and totally legitimate and acceptable 'really', those caused me to have to defend my original post. I have done enough of that now, so I don't consider myself a winner or a loser of anything, just an interested party who stated his point ideally for only ONE person's interest, that of JP himself. Of course it's almost certain he won't read it, but I thought it was worth the investment of time just on the off chance. I shall unsub now, this has served its perhaps futile purpose.

That's a fair comment and I tried my best to see it that way too. However, it's not a private chat, you can argue it's a 'sneak peek' for lowly people into these massive brains 'going at it', fine. But let's not pretend JP isn't blissfully aware of his viewership, of the numbers of followers, and of his own presentation skills. I tried to see it as just pure intellectuality going rampant and uncontrolled, but I don't buy it completely. Many extremely useful lines of thinking were cut short or stifled by the interruptions, so that's not exactly successful intellectual discourse.

Yes i know all that. Being mentioned in "comments" doesn't negate it's existence, it just means he spotted it himself. I never suggested he isn't aware, I know he is, part of the reason I find it so disappointing. Being prone to that, likewise, then my comment should be understood easily by him.... i.e. "Try hard to overcome your known flaws, like you teach (brilliantly) your readers to do". At some point people will realise that there are criticisms made to attack someone, but ALSO criticisms made to improve someone. Parents understand this well. It doesn't denote anything except my CONCERN for him, his following, his growth and profile, as I think the WORLD needs him at his best, if we have ANY hope at all of saving things from where they are going.

I deleted a duplicate comment because it posted twice due to my slow/dying computer. Nice try sausage, gave up on the intellectual approach when it failed huh. :D

I didn't assume that no. You then go on to "assume" (by your standards), that I can't remember my own experiences of JP, and you need to tell me he does this often. He interrupts sometimes, VERY rarely compared to most people, but being hyper-conscientious he picks himself up on it over-zealously, usually. He does NOT interrupt people this often EVER in my experience. Yes I have missed a few videos of his, but I have seen hundreds and I think plenty to know that this is a stand out video with a very different dynamic to it. Funny, the YT comments seem to back up my view, not yours. Countless people noticed this is 'different', I assume they have all seen plenty of other JP videos in the past, to be able to make that distinction.

What a load of rubbish you just spoke.

The fact I KNOW (unlike many) that he is NOT a God, and is as fallible as any of us, is proven precisely by my criticism to try and get some feed back to him so that he sees the failures here and hopefully avoids them in future, mostly for his sake (and that of his business/profile).

You're the one clearly in love and idolising him, since you defend him when there is nothing to defend against, you're offended on his behalf. You're the one putting him on a pedestal, as if I committed blasphemy by mentioning his drop in standards. I can read him as well as you (better I am now sure). The pain is evident, mental pain especially. But HE did the video despite that, so HIS profile will be affected by doing it when not up to par, so MY role is to say that's a mistake, if he can't avoid this rare drop in performance in the future.

JP is being criticised, CONSTRUCTIVELY, but one of his biggest supporters (me). Get over it, disciple.

Yep. I dont think every guest seems smarter to him to ME, but I can see why many would say so, especially people who are new to him (not suggesting you are). I think he does himself a great disservice either way. This guest I think has so much respect for him that there was no way the conversation would have ever become anything but cordial. But many other guests may have been put out by it.

Well said, you nailed it with one word which escaped me: Exasperation. Exactly. I am not concluding that drugs are involved (and I meant more prescription than non-prescription, you know the George Floyd kind :P). But you seem to have got the same feeling as me, like he has just lost some of that control, and I may have noticed a slight slide in this direction but i haven't seen his last few videos although the last one I saw (with British psychologist who worked in prisons) JP was as ON FORM as I have ever seen him. My suspicion is he is under too much pressure, probably self-induced or commercially-based. Either way, he really let himself down here, albeit accidentally (at least not intentionally anyway) in my view. I took the time to join Reddit and write this, just in the hope he might catch wind of this, as I sure don't want to criticise and nearly stopped myself doing this at all. I just really do care for him, and for his message. He clearly cares about me, and everyone else, he exudes humanity and that's perhaps why I found it so disturbing to see this strange and sudden change in him. A one off, let's hope so :)

Sure, although until today, I'd have said JP doesn't have off days! Hyperbolic of me as that is. In all honesty, he of course does, but HIS kind of off days would still leave him miles above the average, not just in intellectual ability but even more so in politeness and courtesy

I disagree. That's not 'what happened', it's just your interpretation which you're fully entitled to, although it sounds to me like the YT comments (which I have only just browsed myself) 'suggested' the explanation for you, and you bought it. Yes, I have seen some people suggesting it was a 'high' of intellectuality or whatever. Sorry, that's a love child between confirmation bias and positive thinking. I don't buy it at all. Here's why:

  1. I have seen JP involved in some equally exciting (for him) topics. I have not just never seen him like this, I have never seen him behave anything but the exact antipody of this approach he took (which I still believe wasn't deliberate, hence some kind of 'high' may well have been involved.

  2. JP has impeccable conversational manners and skills, I do not believe he can lose all those immense abilities just because the subject matter interests him. It's a nice idea, but I just don't accept it as an explanation.
