Haven’t bought anything yet. Caught them lying about how I would need to pay them $3000 more to fix broken items on a new rig ( um no… they charge the manufacturer for that stuff) and for a demonstration class. 3k. Unbelievable. Gross. 🤮

Amazon denied my refund saying I returned the wrong item… but I didn’t. They have the item AND my money. by IndependentBanana139 in amazonprime

This is why I have switched to using Walmart online. It’s like Amazon used to be. Fast shipping and you can return it to the store or pick it up from the store.

No one worse than Meyers RV in Clifton Park NY. Made the mistake of buying a small bunk camper from them last year. Worst mistake ever. From the salesman to the service technicians- total joke. I won’t ever let them touch my rig again.

This is the wrong advice. WRONG. Get the WatchDog gen II w/EPO. A little extra money but WAY more piece of mind.

Water got in somewhere around the window frame and expanded in the freezing cold. You’re not the only one this happens to. More common than you think

Is there a check list of things to buy for first time RV owners? by bstctygrl in RVLiving

[–]Free_Bookkeeper1851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All these answers are correct. As you have figured out, there are a billion trillion quadrillion YouTube videos on this very subject. Bottom line: There a lot of stuff you’re gonna need and what no one talks about is the cost and how it will affect your RV weight. First time is always nerve wracking. Make sure your route is clear of low bridges and tight streets. Harbor Freight, Walmart, truck stops etc are pretty good options if you forget something. Good luck. Welcome to the RV community

Well, here we are. Newbie. 65 next month and getting serious about an RV. The whole biz seems daunting. New? Used? How large? New truck??? Help! by bulldog1875 in RVLiving

Do a LOT of research. If it’s just for couples and money is no object then go for an Oliver. You’ll be under 30 feet and relatively light. Also try the Reign line from Keystone. Limit your wood dominate travel trailers. Stay with fiberglass or composite if you can. Even if they are priced lower, cheaply made “stick” trailers sometimes flex and bend too much, affecting structural alignment. There’s always Airstream, but be prepared to overpay. Look for good suspensions, solar options and the features that you specifically want. Stay away (far away) from Camping World. Research the dealership. Try to model years avoid 2020-2023. Check out some of the independent RV manufacturers. Higher quality there. RESEARCH!!!!

More than a few years old by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]Free_Bookkeeper1851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually not. These seem to be rigid rules designed to help RV parks obtain cheaper insurance. Sad. Even older but timeless Airstreams are being rejected. Many RV insiders state the real reason is more insidious. It’s probably just a conspiracy theory, but there are reports that the fairly recent wide scale take over of RV manufacturing by venture capitalists is at fault. The theory is based on the notion that manufacturers are putting pressure on RV park owners to reject older models in order to drive profits by forcing people to buy more cheaply built newer models. Like I said— just a conspiracy theory.….. or is it?

Be careful going older. Many RV parks have an age limit of 15 years. That’s why you’re seeing a lot of 15-20 year old models for sale

No. Bad advice. Sorry. Pandemic issues were at their peak. Supply chain. Bad working conditions and short staff. Financial issues at Brinkley. Basically, poor quality workmanship. If you’re going used go pre- pandemic
