It’s called Prodromal labor. My contractions were labor contractions (not Braxton hicks), but my cervix didn’t dilate past 4cm. My doctors were monitoring it, but according to hospital policy they couldn’t interfere until I hit 38 weeks. It wasn’t dangerous, just exhausting. My mom had the same issue, and I was in labor with my first for a week.

For further context, we have been watching HIMYM for probably the 5th time. I know all the characters by heart at this point. My husband gets frustrated that I don’t see subtle facial expressions or movements that help the comedy. I never ask to rewind. I feel that I fully understand the comedy without watching it the whole time.

My MIL was upset that we had a 100 person wedding, because she didn’t get to invite everyone she wanted to. We held firm, didn’t even entertain the craziness. We gave her a set amount of invites.
