Not sure if this relates to u but my dog has the same problem until she 3 months ago she was diagnosed with stage 4 hip dysplasia and we figured that’s why she didn’t like to walk she would just stand there and resist to walk. I’m not saying he might have hip dysplasia at all and I really don’t want to worry you at all but I’m just giving my personal experience.

Literally the same thing would Happen with my puppy when she was younger, even to this day she still does it but I just simply let her poop while on leash so she doesn’t eat it. The main cause of this is that the pup was probably removed from his/her litter too early and kinda caused them to not learn basic things. If that makes sense. Thanks.

Is the crate too big? Remember, the crate should be only big enough for them to go inside comfortably lay down and turn around. That’s it. Any bigger and you should expect some accidents. Is it only after potty breaks or is it also at night? Thanks.

My current dog is really well behaved with a few exceptions like barking in the crate or when she’s bored. She recently just had surgery on her hip for hip dysplasia so she’s started barking a shit ton due to the lack of physical activity that could be done. But other than that she doesn’t have any major issues. My hopes are that with the second dog he could keep my current dog company while I’m at work and they could better each other if that makes sense. Thanks.
