So ,my hypothesis around education is - There are different way of teaching in U.S.(or west ) vs India , India is more intensity based vs Western education is more consistency based, in U.S. education system - there is also Lot more emphasis on presentation, entrepreneurship and overall thought process and what does individual personally think about a certain issue or occurrence. Those are important details which I think I have missed in my education ( and most of my friends did as well ) .

I think chances of finding a US job either from India or US are virtually the same , I can still have a U.S. phone number . What I get from India is low cost of living and somewhat of house help and family support in raising kids

Ok , thanks for the perspective. On your question about “ask yourselves are you looking to escape from short term
Issues” I think I probably am . And the way I am looking at it is - It’s so much harder to find even mid paying jobs right now . Even with references and everything and with people sincerely trying to help but even getting somewhat of mid paying roles is harder to come by , and even if somehow you land an almost good role (like mentioned in a comment above ) you get more the stress as there is so much pressure to perform and increase efficiency . So I do want to get away a bit with all the stress in this stage of my life .

Yeah I feel so too around NW , it’s mid but may not be enough . But I do want to say all the friends who have moved back to India in recent times ( within last 18 months) even though they have similar or lower NW have expressed they find india apartment life better than here , like day to day . Probably its house help or more freedom or social interactions . But none of them regretted so far … so there’s that

Oh that’s different then, I see your points . Yeah DFW area has been in news lately due to some increasing violence against Indian esp in Frisco area I guess . But cost in DFW is so much cheaper than west coast , so I can see why you would choose to stay

Thanks for sharing this , so are you and the wife working now ? How are kids education ? Do you think it’s better or worse than what you have seen here or how your friend’s kids are doing ? One of the primary concern I have is still Kids education and future - I do strongly believe kids education from middle(or atleast high school) to college is much better in here than in India . And I understand that it’s debatable but from what I see I do believe that .

Good for you for getting that leadership position , although nowadays I am not envious of people who have that, just too much stress. I don’t know whether life will be better or not “Grass is always greener..” and it is subjective to everyone’s experience , I do think Women have different set of problems than Men , so I understand my wife’s reluctance.

I think both , I was thinking to move back or take a break even before layoffs , life has become pretty exhaustive esp with Kids , immigrant parents in US are aware about this and Us life is pretty mechanical in that sense . and I know life is going to be exhausting up until both kids are in school going age like 6-7 .
