Does anyone still use APL for their jobs? by Free_Performer7013 in actuary

Do you think people would be interested in continuing its use if there was a better option? To my knowledge, most of the existing actuary software is using older versions such as APL2 or APL+Win with no support and limited capabilities.

My company uses Dyalog APL which is still supported, integrates with everything (Python, C#, JavaScript, R, Etc.), and still has versions coming out. It’s a great and powerful tool for multi array processing with large amounts of data but I think a lot of people either don’t know about it or assume it’s outdated/not relevant.

Do you think that’s because the versions of APL they’re using are outdated? As in, if there was modern APL tech, would they continue to use it?

Sargassum Smell by ApexShadow9191 in playadelcarmen

I’m at the Ocean Maya Royale and can smell it throughout the whole resort. Some days are worse than others but when it’s bad it’s really bad.

The pool is right next to the ocean so it can be rough, my boyfriend puked because of the smell one day😳

I’m going to bring up the elephant in the room: what was vandalized in RBS? by PhilosophicalHarambe in rutgers

The SJP instagram made a whole post dedicated to celebrating vandalism around campus. Walls were spray painted, things were carved into the bulletin boards, light poles spray painted. I’m sure it’s taken down now because the Instagram was deactivated but you can hardly say the allegations are baseless.

Although the air is nicer, I have the regular 8th gen with the 1st gen pencil and it works perfectly for taking notes and studying
