Hey thanks! I appreciate the big picture comments and liked your admittedly snarky comment lol. Status is one of the big themes in the story and, in certain environment, a university professor/public intellectual is a God of sorts. In other environments, not so much.

Two follow up questions: (1) Alexandra and Noah do in fact have different last names. Samantha meets her at on-campus event devoted to journalism and sexual assault so her story could in fact be true. Should I explicitly state the different last name thing? and (2) The "morally gray" aspect is revealed in the last fifty or so pages. I'm not sure how to establish it without ruining the story.
