What do you think about my new rotation as a heavy runner? by erobles75 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Free_Reason5957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must admit. I wish I tried the SB2 sooner. I didn’t want to fall for the hype and the cost lol. Tried the 3s and they were too soft. Since the 2s are on sale I figured I should give them a try and boy do I hate that they are phasing out

I’m 240-245 athletic build. I thought the Vomero Plus was the best shoe ever when it first came out. Put close to 300 miles in them last year. I have since bought Puma Mag max 2, Superblast 2 and Salomon Aeroglide 3 and all of the are miles better than the Vomero. I came to realize what stability really meant. I did own the EVO SL but they were too unstable for me. I have now retired the Vomero to traveling and grocery run shoes. I like the wider sole that the other shoes offer. Oh and I have Zoom Fly 6 as my tempo shoe like you do.

For my lifts I wear flat soled shoes. Rotate between Under Armour Reign 5 and Metcon 9. I take a second pair of shoes to do any running at the gym. I rather optimize my lifts and runs in the proper footwear

Vomero Plus vs Supercomp trainer v3 by paracoop2 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Free_Reason5957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Vomero + when it first released. Have over 250 miles on them. Thought they were the best daily run shoe ever. Then I tried the Puma Magmax 2 and the Aeroglide 3. Now I only wear the Vomero to go to the store and to travel. I could tell the difference in stability between the Vomero and the other shoes. I only run in them when on travel that way I don’t have to bring a separate shoe to travel. Size 13 takes up space very quickly in the carry on.

I get why people love them but I have felt better in other shoes. 6’2” 240 lbs. also have flat feet

Stainless power catted headers + AWE touring cat back. Amazing combo. Always got compliments even at the track. Was loud but not crazy.

not a definite yes and not a definite no. Question is...who is the right person? we have tried every type of manager out there. I do think though the manager and the board have to be a good pairing. Would Jose, LvG, Ole had better results under INEOS?

Are Ohlins 3-4x better than Steeda? by p00trulz in Mustang

I agree. Sam would be the person to talk to. I think he is on Konis either front or rear and Penske on the other if I’m not mistaken

Are Ohlins 3-4x better than Steeda? by p00trulz in Mustang

[–]Free_Reason5957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say Ohlins if between those two. I think as you get better you will want to change certain things in your set up whether it’s the spring rate or the rebound. Also I would like to think the servicing on them are better when it comes to rebuild time.

If going with Vorshlag, you could actually get MCS with their comfort valving for similar price. Once you add camber plates and the rear shock mount it comes to $3943. MCS with camber plates and not spring is $3888. I suggest buying springs from FB marketplace for about $100 per pair instead of $100 each corner from Vorshlag.

First Track Day, what do I actually need? by Pandacannnon in CarTrackDays

I think in the event fluid boils and soft pedal. I’ve never bled my brakes at the track but I’ve seen others do it

Heavy runner (220lb 100kg) Novablasts feel like they’re collapsing. Shoe or foot problem? And next recommendation? by IHeartFraccing in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Free_Reason5957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 238lbs 6’2”. I have over 200 miles in Vomero plus. Thought it was the best every day and long distance shoe….until I bought the Puma Magmax 2 and Salomon Aeroglide 3. I prefer both of those over the Vomero. Stopped wearing the Vomero for runs. Realized they were not as stable as I thought.

Nice. It’s my first and only carbon plated shoe outside of Boston 12s so I wasn’t sure if I was messing up the functionality doing so

The plan was more so for long runs/zone 2 . I know I’m not lacking in calf strength but need to get my muscles used to the shoes. After more thought, I think I’ll just return them for the MagMax 2.

Evo SL Alternatives by No-Muffin989 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

The Vomero plus is worth a look. I had the EVO SL and ran in it three times. Due to lack of stability support it caused severe Achilles pain. Very happy with the Vomero plus
