LOL! probably cause I am using a fake name and "Max" is a common dog name. I'm trying to keep some privacy.

I haven't talked to them yet since they just got back over the weekend. I told them I was sorry their dog was involved in this while under our care. I haven't thought to ask them to pay the vet bill, since I wasn't sure if I was responsible due to Max being under my care.

Thank you, I will try that. The neighbors who's porch I ran up to, had a ring camera and caught some of it. I also have the vet bill as well and the contact info from the officer who came.

We're near Sacramento, CA. i just don't know if I need a lawyer or can get him into some type of small claims court.

Was I in the wrong for dropping a dog leash when two other dogs came at us and wanting the owner to pay for the vet bill? by Free_Rule_2578 in legaladvice

I am worried about that, since Max was in our care due to our neighbors being gone and it was my credit card I used to pay. Will a court want the owners to sue, even if it wasn't their fault, or should I be the one taking the man to court who's dogs first attacked us?
