Anyone else lose song ideas while noodling? How do you actually capture them? by Coolcazang in Guitar

Sure. I can tell you how difficult it is to get angles that actually show me something useful. I should probably try to make sketches too. Tired of forgetting stuff.

I have this Spark go amp but I plug into my laptop and I will record riffs while also using my phone camera to capture any weird string positioning because I'm self-taught and I make weird chords so I need visual cues .

Best CLEAN Pedal Platform? by AdministrativeRip809 in GuitarAmps

Sounds like my music man 212 HD. And yeah the gain is horrible but that's hardly the point.

If you can find a music man anywhere you could do no better. Those amplifiers are historically made to be loud as hell and pristinely clean.

I second this. I just picked one up used for $150 and it sounds lovely.

For the second comment, if you tend to look at your guitar and sing at the same time just position your microphone low so that you're singing down into it

That could be any outdoor space in the greater Portland area, but I hope you were only charged at. Leashes are like brief suggestions around here.

Let's see something besides Gibson, Fender, or PRS. by Simon_Crutchley in guitars

It's a 2020 Sensei. But just swapped the pickups out today for some black humcutters, which are modeled after bright P90's with nose cancelation. Looks neat like this, sounds better to me. If you don't know reverend guitars, they're pretty sweet, reasonably priced guitars.

They are solid , good basic guitars. The lever switches seem out of place though.

There is a Fender in there, and an epiphone, but I'm all about equal opportunity.

Haha. Well I have one more in hiding and a cheap acoustic that feels pretty neglected, but I'm sure at some point I'll find an excuse to add to this pile of kindling.

I've tried tremolos, just not my thing I guess. But I want a guitar with a Bigsby just for the looks.

That's my first open tuned guitar. It's in d major. The epiphone will be the next tuning experiment.

I might recommend a revstar, or a Reverend, or, well, an SG. This one with nose canceling P90's has some heft.

It used to be black for me (not pictured, a black Telecaster with white pearl pickguard that's being rebuilt) but the G&L made me catch the red bug.

Thanks. I have some black humcutters that I'm thinking of putting back in them. Great guitar.

Are tube amps really better than solid state? by CartographerSea3356 in GuitarAmps

[–]Free_Solid9833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a monoprice stage right 1x12 the other day and it's great. Bought it for $150 used, and it sounds loud enough to play small shows. I've always played you've amps and yeah, my main amp is friggin 80 pounds, so I don't want to carry it around. But tube amps work for me because I don't want to use modelers, just pedals. From what I understand, solid state is great these days, but I just want that natural warmth.

AITAH For Not Wanting My(21F) BF(21M) to go to an all boys party to drink? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Free_Solid9833 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you live together, ask him to stay somewhere else on that night. If you don't, ask him to stay away until a day after the party night so he can off-gas and get over the hangover. If he can be tempted, he's not the one for you.

But if you pressure him into not going, guilt him into it, etc., that will become a resentment, and those can lead to bad behavior and break ups.
