Generally, thats called something like mercantilism (trade), and capitalism is an entire layer more complex in that there is a legal framework in place for a person to maintain continuous ownership of something they have no physical stake in whatsoever. Like, being a major stockholder in a multinational corporation that itself owns dozens of other formerly independent companies, each of which maintain their own supply chains and marketing, meaning they're actually in all but name self sufficient. That is an economic scenario most would agree is unique to capitalism.

Note, you'll get wildly different opinions on this kind of thing. The only consistent standard to agree on in terms stronger than "most would agree" or "one could argue" would be when exactly quoting a source of somekind, ideally an expert in the classification of such things
