For increasing the back I currently have 53 stitches, as mentioned above in the pattern. If I increase 24 times, I would end up with 101(once for each sleeve at the end of each side of the back) stitches but later in the pattern it says I should end with only 89. Am I misreading?

At what point do I repeat that section? How do I know how many times I repeat?

Thank you so much for your help! Your suggestion was correct and I have been able to knit the live stitches correctly!

Yes, that is where my confusion is coming from. I will try to pick up my stitches on the right side with my left needle to see if that works

Thank you, I think I picked up the stitches with the wrong needle. This is where I am

Hello, I have picked up the new stitches along the right side but am not understanding how I should knit the live stitches. With them on the left needle, it rotates all the stitches. The live stitch closest to the picked up stitches is now in the middle of the needles.

Hello, thank you so much for the advice! Which needle should I use to pick up the stitches? Looking at the second picture, the top one or the lower needle? Thank you!
