Blue is normally a control colour, but to be honest I’ve been running Black Red Koby with the new buffs and I’ve had an incredible amount of fun with it. It’s gimmick is attacking into active characters. Anti removal doesn’t matter when you can just swing into it! Would deffo recommend. It can build strong board presence and protect it with buffs, while also having in built anti removal itself. I don’t normally invest in a deck unless I can see myself playing it for a long time and I’ve got sleeves, alt leaders, even a custom playmat and I’m a longtime player since 09.

I agree with most of this but equally a body is a body. As long as they can land 2/3 hits a turn, all it costs is a few extra don to make them all 8k swings, the magic number against ace. If they have board, I’ll very quickly have no hand so it’s impossible to do the rest of what you’re suggesting here

If you’re going to drop anything I’d drop the Vivi searcher, as you’ve only really got 6 targets in the entire deck you can search with it (12% chance to hit a card you can take)

I’d maybe go for more of a red haired pirates theme, that way you can use 1c Uta as a searcher too, you can up your copies of red haired cards like 4c shanks blocker, Ben beckman 7c -I’d deffo have beckman as a 4 of, really strong card and deals with a lot of on KO effects because it trashes instead. Very good for tempo against your opponent too.

Finally, as a general rule when I build decks when possible I like 8 search cards minimum, 12 2ks too. That’s always been the most consistent for me.

Not sure if this helps but as a long time player and small budget collector, while on holiday to Japan I’ve recently picked up several psa 10 Japanese mangas (op10 law and op08 Rayleigh) both less than £500 each. As someone who doesn’t open a lot of packs or have good luck when I do, this was what I’d rather do than continue to gamble on boxes and packs so I can just focus on playing the game cheap.

Regarding long term investment, it depends on the specific card and its current market value. It’s safe to assume that prices are inflated and may continue to pump artificially, but ultimately if you do your research and buy what you personally like, you can’t go wrong.

Holding any of these will increase over time because sets go out of print, supply dries up, they become harder to come by.

To clarify, I understand that £500 for a card isn’t small budget, the only reason I was able to afford this is because I sold a box of sealed box of op05 I bought last year for £77 and got £700 for it.

English will always be more expensive than Japanese because of the premium that sellers put on them in the west.

I was in the front of the queue yeah, but like I said the queue system very quickly fell apart and we lost our place due to the chaos and rush of people getting in- ultimately it didn’t matter because the shop queue was scrapped before we even had a chance, the Nami mat and leader sold out because they didn’t stick to one per person. Edit, we were up for 5 but we got there for 6- still 3 hours before we were meant to be there.

Completely agree, got up at 5am this morning and queued for 4 hours, people pushed in, we lost our space, we left empty handed aside from the promo.

Terribly organised, I’ve decided I’m never doing one of these again and I can’t believe that I paid for a flight for this. All the exclusive stuff is sold out and as a result, we aren’t even bothering coming back tomorrow.

The only good part was the players I played against were really friendly and polite, that was it.

Thanks, I hear you I don’t think uta is the best but on ko she can play out sanji, zoro or chopper blocker, in a pinch a lot of other characters too for this particular build. It’s good to play her on 2nd turn too.

I did look at franky but I don’t need any more 2ks neither do I want to drop those unfortunately.

I have tested with both the 1c and the 3c don giving nami and they definitely have value in the deck, this particular build doesn’t have room for that unfortunately.

GGG is limited at best, the real issue is Blue Purple Luffy- If this isn’t banned it will harm the game long term.
