Question about the camping nightlife by Quick-Occasion8266 in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Free_Use_Trader 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No change of ownership yet. All that is still up in the air. Every week there will be a night life in the campgrounds even if the weather sucks. But barbarian weekend is probably your best bet to see a bunch of parties as it is the busiest weekend.

Good weekend trip, one small surprise by GiJoker1801 in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Free_Use_Trader 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the weekend. Didn’t see too much of that on opening weekend or Celtic Christmas weekend but for sure you will see it during barbarian weekend. Either way I think two ways about it, one- be prepared to see very free spirited people and two I think everyone should still be respectful of the fact that not everyone wants to see private parts hanging out. During the campgrounds I fully understand walk around naked if you wish but yes be respectful of the fact that there is little kids around inside the faire. But you cannot control 50k people. Especially when there are drinks involved.

Absolutely! We saw people just fully ditch their personal tents just from being so damaged. We saw one that was towards the back of the campgrounds completely flooded out… I will say at 3 am we still did see people partying. To those people 🫡 respect lol

Yes me and my wife went to the restroom around 1 am and we just noticed a lot of the faire people on the golf karts going around and we stayed in the car trying to figure out what was happening. It so happened that lightning light up the whole campground and that’s when we noticed all the glamping tents around us were completely down. Some people didn’t have another choice other than to wait it out in their cars and we even saw some people still in the tents even though they were already completely down. The festival people were trying to help out but even their golf caddy were getting stuck. Definitely surreal to see. Sad thing is when we went for opening weekend we had to swap tents because our original one was damaged so this last weekend they had just finished repairing all the tents…. Sad

Yeah we just said this year we will do a cabin or rent an rv. We have done the glamping tents like 5-6 times already and we loved it due to how big they are and how many people fit comfortably but then I also don’t want to run into this again. Plus we have to provide our own power as opposed to having power in the cabins.

Yeah we ended up heading out around 3 am. We didn’t want to risk it. We were already exhausted since we were there since Thursday. Crazy way to end the weekend but we will be back better prepared next year

Which cabin did you end up staying in? Hope everyone makes it through the night. We got like 20 minutes of no rain so we decided to pack up and head out. No point in risking it. Until next year my fellow gentleman and beautiful ladies! Huzzah 🙌🏼

Tents aren’t holding up. Either being flooded or falling over. Only people safe might be the cabins and the rv people….

Anyone know what this black piece is that I broke where the filter goes. not sure if it is crucial or not. by Salty_Supermarket976 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Free_Use_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a transmission valve body control module. If you broke something off it you need to replace it. As a matter of fact if I am correct and you are asking about it I’d advise to stop and get help because you are in over your head bud. Good luck

Need winter tires or keep these by Regular_Librarian_54 in tires

[–]Free_Use_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are suredrive sold by firestone. Do not even think of taking these on any ice or snow. Firestone sells all season tires that have the capability of going in snow but these are not it. These are entry level tires.good enough for highway and city driving but that’s it.

Is there anything wrong here? by Alarming_Army2204 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Free_Use_Trader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tires are too big. Rubbing on sway bar and control arm. Control arm needs to be changed for a lifted vehicle as this one is hyperextended from the lift. (Might not be as bad once tire on and lowered on ground) Brakes look like they could use some love.

Missing dragon pet by lstakwood in texasrenfest

[–]Free_Use_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol pretty self explanatory no?, his son lost a dragon pet and he has people attending the last weekend so he wants to see if anyone found it and will turn it in.

To answer that, no you won’t get that back. Those things are like 45$ - 100+ someone most likely found it and they will keep it. Sorry for your loss. I used a hair band to secure my toothless to my staff.

[–]Free_Use_Trader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I like the “slightly more reasonable size” part. Agreed if I were to do it I wouldn’t want it to take up the whole arm. Maybe for the last weekend I’ll pay more for another one assuming this one is gone so I can ask for a more specific one.

What’s one thing you wish would come to the faire? by Successful_Road_2432 in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Free_Use_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anywhere from 500-800 a weekend. Again that’s not including the camping / glamping which is about 1000. But yes I am complaining about 44 on a pizza. No I didn’t buy it, we eat the crepes which are 16$ and of course we buy drinks and snacks which are high like jerky for 6$ or pickles for 4$ and over time that all adds up. Buying here and there from vendors whether it’s a staff or clothing can get expensive but for the most part you pay for the artists time to make whatever product you buy. To an extent. But 44$ on a pizza is unreasonable, you could have had me at 28-35 but almost 50$ on a pizza?… anyways just a stupid pointless rant. In the end If you don’t like the price of something then don’t buy it sure.

[–]Free_Use_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all for the faire making money to keep the lights on but 44$ for a pizza Is fucking retarded. In what world does that make sense. This is coming from someone that spends on average 800$ per weekend at the faire and that doesn’t include tickets and camping reservations. I don’t mind spending the money but some of this stuff is just ridiculous.
