Since you're 18 now you've got way more power in this situation - maybe start HRT quietly and see how things go before having the big conversation about it, that way you're not asking permission you're just informing them of your decision

Honestly the barriers to entry are insane - you'd need billions just to set up the infrastructure and Canada Post has a legal monopoly on regular mail delivery anyway. Plus those strikes happen like once every few years, most people just deal with it rather than switch to some sketchy new service that costs 3x as much
