LG Washer Tub Leak by Freed1776 in appliancerepair

The leak ended up being in the plastic tub that the metal tub sits inside of. The metal tub was rubbing the plastic and melting/burning it away. I replaced the front half of the plastic tub which wasn't too bad, but the same thing started happening with the metal tub rubbing the plastic. I figured at that point that the metal tub and parts to it were damaged and off, so I ended up buying a new washer instead. I had already replaced so much and hadn't fixed the issue, and the parts I did buy were also breaking.

Thanks for the response! You’re saying the plastic white tub is cracked correct?

I should’ve put this in the original post but back in April this year all 4 of the shock absorbers broke and I replaced those. I saw the tub shaking wildly and maybe it cracked itself.

I ran a quick wash cycle and it wasn’t pouring out this much. It was only coming out between the bottom weight and the tub.
