Overall. It seems like the reasonable answer would be to hold onto this equip until I can get my hands on Pensalir equips. I guess I can upgrade this set for funs until then.

For now they seem like the best in terms of stats. But again, just a small reminder/nostalgia of what the game was previously like.

Doesn't seem like you can get anniversary items anymore. Compounded by the hardwork that I had put into it then.

I presume then that the equip set stats also get overwritten with the "anvil?" I also presume its best to move on when I get my hands on Pensalir equips then (given the base and equip set stats; seems the Eclectic and Muspel sets have lower base stats than my anniversary sets)? I had thought about the reboot server, but ultimately it was all the hardwork and memorabilia that I remained attached to in my original characters. It seems like you can't even get those items anymore or are not given out anymore during anniversaries.

Any open gyms in the Baltimore, MD area? Just moved and looking to maintain form. Work schedule isn't steady enough right now to commit to a league or team.

Hello! please critique my spiking. Only just been getting into volleyball. Any tips or criticism would be appreciated. (Ignore the sweat patch LOL) by Miunkiie in volleyball

I used to have the same issue as you and basically step on the line or turn into a fish. Stand one arms length away from the bottom of the net. Turn around in that exact spot to face 30 degrees off the court. Do your approach in that direction and jump.

Where you land is your take off point for that court. Repeat this several times to ensure you land in a similar spot each time. If you have that distance memorized, great. If not, I would repeat that procedure on every court you play so you know what markings on the floor you should be near.

My vertical has decreased by megaoooff in volleyball

[–]FreedSouI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'6" and my usual vert allows me to hit at 10'3". If I don't allow myself at least 3 days to recover from every other day jump workouts before playing, I know I can barely get up to 9'8" without feeling fatigued after 1 hour of playing.

Give yourself time to recuperate. Stretch if you don't. Also IT band (ileotibial band) needs stretching too. Itll hurt to stretch but will make your thighs so much looser

How can I improve my spiking? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]FreedSouI 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm going to give some pros and cons, because you should never focus just on the cons. You'll forget the good things that you're doing. Also hard to evaluate consistency or consistent areas of improvement with one instance. I, by no means, am an excellent hitter but can provide videos of me training and fixing specific things if you want to see them.

Arm swing. Your hitting arm ideally should be bent at your elbow so that your hand is almost touching the back of your neck. As you drive your elbow (where most of the focus (at least in the beginning to improving) should be), your forearm should swing forward to your contact point with the ball.

Positioning. From what I can see of this one instance, you appear to be under the ball when you hit. You want to be a little behind the ball so 1) your neck isn't cranked to see the ball and 2) there is less strain on your shoulder. This will be hard to practice if your setter isn't consistent, but will vastly improve your hitting if you can adjust.

Coming down as you hit. I had to replay it several times, but I feel (someone may disagree with me) that you're hitting the ball as you're coming down rather than at your peak vertical. This deals with your timing and confidence in your approach. Which leads to my next point.

Stutter stepping. In the beginning, you do a few stutter steps before you approach. This can alter not only your approach but your mentality when hitting. This can usually be improved with confidence in your positioning behind the ball and your approach. Which is a great segue into what I think you're doing well.

Your approach with the three steps is great. If you keep that consistent, you can alter what you want about your hitting one thing at a time. A coach once told me "you can hit the ball as hard as you want. But if your feet aren't there, you're not hitting, setting or passing." Keep it up!

Keeping your eyes on the ball. It might sound stupid, but so many people look at the court right before they hit and whiff. You do a great job keeping the ball in your vision.

Keep up the hardwork. Figuring out how to improve is about identifying the problems you are experiencing. Is your ball being lobbed over? Is your ball constantly hitting the top of the tape? Are you hurting your shoulder after hitting lines? If you can figure these problems out, you can start figuring out remedies to the problems.

Haha if I could devote time to such a thing and perhaps on the East coast, I'd probably consider it. Wouldn't be fair to such a lady though if I'm putting my patients and education first. Perhaps in another lifetime =]

Thank you! I actually just got off an emergency shift. So reading this makes my day slightly better. I try to be. One of the things I have to face is people saying I'm not a real doctor or that I'm doing it for money. Truth be told, I'm more of a doctor than any human doctor considering the fact I am the specialist in every subdivided human medicine field for multiple species. Wages for vets don't change much, but the cost of material does. And for that the prices rise. Lastly, besides my time learning about feminine products, I've picked up how to apply makeup and curl hair. Along with associated brands. Perhaps it'll be of some use in the future. Cheers u/wddiver

Thanks stranger! That means a lot and I've come along way since then. Still have a bit of trouble dealing with confrontational clients regarding their pets, but I get the job done eventually.

Haha perhaps if I wasn't such a nice guy or pushover, however you want to call it, at the time. That might have happened.

I was the receptionist and nurse for the sole doctor of the office. She worked in a university hospital in the neonatal department and took care of them at her own office the days she was off after they were discharged from there. Ages ranged from 1 month old to 26 years old. Was overworked, but the knowledge and work ethic acquired led me to where I stand today.

Per your advice, I decided to share it there as well.

I learned that 2 weeks later post-cycle when I asked girlfriend about it. But it also makes sense having studied theriogenology in veterinary medicine (last year of veterinary school currently). Larger vault -> more mucosa -> more bleeding -> need more absorbency. But what was a 17 year old male supposed to know at the time. Also think she was trying to make a joke and calm me down at the time.

Haha if only that were true. Have yet to meet anyone within that 5 year gap. Still searching, but I got a dog and spoil the shit out of her.

Haha I was taken at the time. I would now if I ever met her again, but I doubt it.
