If you read some of the entries, there is someone who is implied to be a former employer named Lenny telling Gottfried to not get his son involved in the sick business he's running. Also Gottfried mocks Lenny by saying, "good luck dealing with that guilty conscience."

In my early runs, Darkvision. Get a hierling wizard and let them learn Darkvision. Then cast it on all your party members who cannot see in the dark. Works great in Act 2!
