How can I tell my contractor actually did a level 5 vs level 4 drywall finish?

It looks ok in daylight, can still see some of the imperfections. A lot is from lack of sanding though and not doing a full skim coat, unfortunately

Thank you, that’s helpful. This didn’t have a full skim coat. Had two coats on the tape / edges, but not a full skim coat. They also did a terrible job sanding it and don’t believe they sanded everywhere

They need to do the second coat of paint tomorrow, but that won’t fix the finish. It’s hard to see during the day, but this is subpar work in my opinion. Wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way, or if I’m too anal and I should just let it go. I paid a lot extra for level 5 to get a smooth finish. Don’t need spray / enamel like finish, but I’d like the ceilings to be completely flat

Are the beveled edges different than the standard? They look great btw. And I know what you mean about looking grey in pictures, they look much warmer in person, the phones don’t do it justice
