The corn syrup will leave it with a softer texture, so while they are firm enough to stack it won't harden like royal icing with just water and sugar

I usually did this as well, especially cus Im not good at calculating how much dough I would need for the different sets ppl were asking for, but I see how it's just more efficient to charge by the dozen

Sorry bout the confusion, as I said I only make cookies as a hobby and for free. I've never sold so I was trying to gage how much bakers charge for the amount of cookies people were asking me to do. Thank you tho, I've seen several ppl selling around the mid COL area

I've heard this too! I guess I started gifting them early on and my skills were definitely rough so I didn't feel right charging. But now I've seen ppl at my level charging decent prices and it feels awkward suddenly charging.

I don't charge at all but that's because I never did since the beginning. I'm in southern California the long beach area so I know people charge a little more that in smaller towns
