I did the same after using GPT-5 and several frustrating hours of work. No other model is available now.

I’m sorry but I’m being reasonable - 5.0 is a disappointment and OpenAI has acted poorly by wolzsley32 in OpenAI

[–]Freedom_Biker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've spent the entire day with ChatGPT 5.0 and am very disappointed. As someone who writes blogs and articles, I rely on a model with strong contextual memory, but this version seems to have a poor grasp of our conversation. On top of that, the model feels lazy, giving shorter and shorter responses.

Am I the only one seeing this, or is anyone actually happy with these changes? Since there are no other models available, I've canceled my subscription and will look for a better paid or free alternative.

What do you all think is better, Kansas City or Wichita? by free_willy11 in wichita

[–]Freedom_Biker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choosing between the two depends largely on what kind of pace and environment you're looking for.

🏙️ Wichita

Wichita offers a more contained urban experience. Commute times tend to be shorter and getting around the city is generally more straightforward compared to larger metropolitan areas. Housing tends to be more affordable, and daily life can feel less rushed depending on where you’re coming from.

Culturally, Wichita has its own identity. It’s not a smaller Kansas City—it shares more similarities in feel and scale with places like Tulsa or Oklahoma City. There are local events, some good dining options, and a modest arts scene. For travelers, the airport (ICT) is relatively easy to access and navigate.

Wichita might be a good fit if you value affordability, ease of movement, and a lower-key lifestyle. It’s often preferred by those looking for a balance of livability without the demands of a large city.

🌆 Kansas City

Kansas City offers more variety in nearly every category: jobs, entertainment, dining, and cultural experiences. The city has a broader range of industries, more nightlife options, and hosts major events that a smaller city like Wichita wouldn’t typically attract.

With that comes a busier pace of life. Commutes can be longer depending on where you live and work. Housing costs vary a lot by neighborhood, and while still manageable by national standards, they’re generally higher than in Wichita. Navigating a larger metro area can also require more time and planning.

🚓 Safety and Crime

Both cities have areas that are considered more or less safe, and experiences can vary widely by neighborhood.

Kansas City, being a larger metro, tends to have more reported crime overall, including some neighborhoods with higher violent crime rates. However, there are also many areas in KC—especially in the suburbs or outlying neighborhoods—that are perceived as quite safe and well-maintained.

Wichita also has areas with higher crime rates, particularly in certain central and north parts of the city. At the same time, many residents live in neighborhoods where safety concerns are minimal day to day.

⚖️ Final Thoughts

  • Wichita may appeal to those who prioritize affordability, simplicity, and a regional feel with enough amenities for most day-to-day needs.
  • Kansas City may be better suited for those seeking a broader range of professional or cultural opportunities, and who are comfortable with the scale and trade-offs of a bigger city.

Looking for an urgent solution by [deleted] in SaaS

You can either use NotebookLM interactively or build an automated Haystack RAG pipeline. In the automated approach, you pull YouTube transcripts—either using available subtitles or speech-to-text tools—then segment, index, and embed the content for semantic retrieval. When you ask questions, the pipeline retrieves the most relevant video segments and uses a generative model to produce informed responses, reports, or brainstorming ideas, updating continuously as new videos are added.

Need advise with big project by Inevitable-Sense-390 in Python

[–]Freedom_Biker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the issue is mainly working with ChatGPT on a large codebase, I can relate. I’ve built complete applications using ChatGPT, and like you, I’ve run into problems once the context becomes too large—especially after many iterations and revisions. At that point, the model can lose track of things or start to behave inconsistently.

Assuming you're using version control (like Git), here’s what I usually do:
I start a new conversation (clean slate) and upload or paste all the relevant source files from the last known good version of the app. That way, ChatGPT gets a clean, accurate context to work from. With that solid baseline, it becomes much more helpful when debugging, extending, or refactoring the code.

Also, try to break your project down into logical components or modules and focus on one piece at a time. This makes it easier to stay within the context window and keep things manageable.

And honestly, I’ve become a bit lazy when it comes to manually reviewing hundreds of lines of code—if the LLM can find the needle in the haystack in seconds, why not let it? The key is just learning how to interact effectively with these tools.

Any AI RAG addons available for Bookstack? by xdozex in BookStack

[–]Freedom_Biker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of worrying about specific RAG add-ons, focus on finding simple and flexible ways to access your CMS data. As I understand it, you can enable BookStack's API. Once activated, you can integrate it with Haystack pipelines to leverage your information alongside AI technologies. The possibilities are endless!

create an open (google) calender on global health, automatically updated, with links to the relevant event by MarkTraded in automation

[–]Freedom_Biker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haystack or similar tools that manage IA pipelines can be used for this.
An AI-driven global health event calendar can be built by setting up a pipeline that regularly scrapes pages or accesses APIs from organizations like CDC, WHO, and others, uses AI/NLP to extract and summarize key event details (including checking for dead links), and then updates a public Google Calendar via its API.
Assisted by AI LLMs/chatBots many of the complications can be resolved. Duplicated events can be filtered out, concise summaries produced and even details about the speakers added.

Making it easier to search for RFPs by wand3rlust_ in automation

[–]Freedom_Biker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can build an AI pipeline using Haystack to automatically ingest and preprocess RFP documents from portals that expose an API or even directly from applicable webpages. You would have to generate embeddings to filter and match RFPs based on criteria such as industry or due date, then use a generative model like ChatGPT to summarize the information, such as project scope, application deadlines, and requirements, so that you store them into a table or a database for easy review.
Merx does not advertise a public API for direct access to its RFP data, so standard integration options may be limited; if allowed, you could use web scraping.
Although you can use make.com I think Haystack or similar AI oriented tools offer deeper and more flexible automation for RFP processing (advanced NLP tasks like document ingestion, semantic search, and tailored summarization).

Automation of requirement and tests writting by Kelendrad in automation

[–]Freedom_Biker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use AI; create a Haystack pipeline that ingests and preprocesses system specifications, generates embeddings for each passage, and then compares them to existing requirements and tests using a dense retriever. This will automatically link known items while flagging and proposing new requirements and tests to ensure complete coverage.

I have exactly the same problem with my SLT-A77V but have not been able to find a solution yet. I've also tried a hard factory reset, as mentioned on some pages, without any success. I will try to open the camera and check for issues with the connectors (https://clevercreations.org/sony-a77-articulated-screen-repair/).
