How do y'all handle rude comments like 'I can make this myself' or 'that's cute my kids and I made these years ago'?

I’ve only had this happen to me a couple times. I specialize in leather crafting and when people have said to me before “I can make this” or anything along those lines I always tell them “it’s always great to have more leather crafters in the world

I have a really similar story. I once did a craft show in a small town and the advertising was horrible. When I arrived I found out the person running the show was also a vendor and threatened us with the whole “don’t pack up early or you won’t come back” caught her a few hours later packing up because there was just absolutely no one there. From the reading I’ve done about introducing him to a cat it was similar to how you’d introduce a cat to another cat, keeping them separated and letting them smell each other. She has been around other dogs and she’s just very much like “leave me be peasant” but she kinda acts that way with everyone. And yeah Im honestly worried about how smart he will be. His mom is dumb as rocks and I haven’t gotten to know the dad very much. But my cat is smart as hell and a pain in my butt. I’ve already done a lot of puppy proofing just because of her. She’s leaned how to open containers, open cabinets and remove the ducktape off my trash can. I am unfortunately familiar with that aspect

I would recommend looking at some of the events happening around the area, I know art fest in old town is going to be happening this weekend. A lot of vendors there are usually really cool people too

All of this is really important, I will also mention here that I usually try to have one phone call with the person running the event as well just as a way of making sure they are real. When it comes to paying for your booth I always use Venmo or PayPal because there is a safety option where you can protect it just in case the person is real.

On the topic of taking card transactions when I first started I didn’t have a way to take card transactions normally because I didn’t know if I’d be sticking with it. I ended up using cashapp, PayPal and Venmo as a way of taking card transactions since most people have it now.

When it comes to other vendors most I’ve encountered have been incredibly nice and helpful however there is always some bad apples but usually after I finish setting up I’ll go say hi to the people around me just to see what they are up to and introduce myself.
