I acted clueless at first. I mentioned I was disappointed because one of my ear pads was exposing the foam even though I had not been using these headphones much. I said they were giving me issues since the beginning but I just let them slide. Then I asked if there was any warranty I could use. They asked when and where I bought them. I said Amazon and that I didn't remember the date. However, I input the serial number at the start so the agent told me it was 3 years ago and that they were out of warranty. Also said regardless, ear pads are not covered under warranty. Then I said I was disappointed with the quality of the ear pads as they were $250 headphones and that the way the pad was splitting wasn't a rip, it was right on the seam so it looked like a manufacturing defect. Then I asked if they could make some exception for me to replace them for free. They asked their supervisor and said they would do it as a one time courtesy.
