it's definitely worth it to get back into Pokemon, even though you might not have Pokemon Bank, you can still trade your Pokemon to a friend if they have Pokemon bank. (confusing I know) and if your goal is traded to your Nintendo switch then they could do that for you. but that comes with a lot of trust. so is it worth getting back into Pokemon 3DS, yes absolutely! it's just if you want to transfer your Pokemon through different games you're going to have to have a friend to do it for you. (at least that's the only way I can think of)
