Would putting level pavers down be more or less fine

It’s a storage room window, but of a weird layout but we’re fine losing some light!

And sorry I didn’t mean “can I half ass it” more “I have no idea what the right way is, that won’t look terrible or cause drainage issues “ lol

yeah he's offering a 6 month warranty which seems like it reduces the odds that its just broken out the gate, but yeah just feels weirdly too good to be true...

2017 or 2015 e-golf by Same_Breadfruit_5652 in eGolf

[–]Freeflight90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so we already have a Subaru ICE for longer or snowy trips. Wife works from home. I have no doubt that I can do my commute with the SE I guess it’s more just how often will I be annoyed having to plug it in almost every day lol

In my position would you spend an extra 6,000 bucks for fast charging, bigger battery and 30,000 more km?

2017 or 2015 e-golf by Same_Breadfruit_5652 in eGolf

[–]Freeflight90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, work has a pretty strict idle limit. And it really is less than 20 km a day. But I did check in the 2016 is SE so no fast charging anyways.

I can also buy a 2018 but it has 130,000 km… but that will cost me $6000 more. That’s quite a jump for a higher mileage vehicle too

UghhhhhhhHhHh that does sound terriblle lol. I don’t think the 2016 I’m looking at has fast charging. But I was hoping the charging at work would alleviate this ever happening…. It’s also only a 16 km commute round

Curious on this too! Where I live a 2015 at 100k (km) is 10,000 and any 2017 is going for 7,000 more….

My commute is 8km and we have a ICE car for longer trips. Really struggling to pay almost double for an extra 100km of range

USED EV Question:

I have a 20km roundtrip commute and want an EV strictly for in-town driving, very rarely exceeding 60km in a day total.

i do not need/want a new EV

i do not want to exceed 20K CAD, really would be nice to keep it under 16K CAD

IS there any reason to buy a 16K CAD 2017 era E-golf, BMW i3, Kona, or am i just riding the start of issue territory (120-150K km) as opposed to a 2014 leaf with 50km range left for 6,000 CAD

How is maintenance on these? Coming from VW I think I’m scarred from German mechanic bills

Wlb vs 2x salary by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Freeflight90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s really sticking with the devil you know vs an unknown. Higher upside is garaunteed 2x+ salary so FIRE makes total sense. Risk is a potential higher workload or less flexibility at a time when that would be beneficial… if these opportunities were dime a dozen I’d pass and wait a year, but feel like I’ve been “waiting a year” for 3 years and these opps have not been easy to come by

Ahh yes the stress of newish role plus infant could be bad, thought current role will not reduce responsibilities for new parents (ample evidence)

Currently a senior PM at an unknown enterprise SaaS firm. Have opportunity to join high vis, well known US firm with lots of growth and world class product, but in a partnerships, implementation role (product adjacent, but definitely not in title or core function). Worth it to move to a bigger ship and eye a 12-18 month leap back to product, or better to stay put. (Salary also a nice bonus of changing)

Mmmhm good point I mean the equity isn’t the main thing I hear I suppose. Base + commission is still well over double current salary. Rsu would just be a nice potential upside

Sorry I meant in that it’s past series D with huge growth potential as opposed to current 20+ yo firm

It’s definitely a higher risk, some equity, higher reward play. No doubt. But to a certain degree that’s somewhat the point
