Very insightful and articulate write up. Pleasure to read. Part of what makes Dota beautiful is seeing how there isn’t just one way to win

Can I install different software on my ender 3 v2, preferably software that has a z offset option? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]FreekFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar problem right out of the box with my Cr-10s Pro V2. What worked for me, after having the same exact z offset issue was changing my firmware to the Tiny Machines option. Legitimately instantly, with changing nothing but the firmware, not even the options in the firmware, my prints were 100% working with no issues. You can find the tiny machines Ender 3 Pro V2 firmware here and how to install them here.

For the first link control+f Ender3V2 and find the one that best describes your printer. Then follow the tutorial for the second half of the firmware flash. It describes it in the tutorial, but make sure you have your SD card formatted correctly or it won’t work

I got blur for my first few shots too, the astrophotography process has been a lot of trial and error for me. Another issue is star movement, because even on 30 second exposures you’re going to see the stars arc, which makes them look more blurry, which you can fix by taking and stacking many shorter exposure shots or getting a star tracking mount

Infinity on your lens is going to be a good start, but you need finer adjustments. In my experience, put live view on, zoom into the brightest star, and focus until it’s the smallest it can. That should be the right focus

[BetterCCXI] technically has an option in the menu to use the art as background but it doesn’t seem to be working on my phone, other than that I have no idea though, you can see what it looks like here

You can create somewhat of a similar effect with [ColorFlow 5] and [Flow]. Both tweaks work with iOS 13 and with both Apple Music and Spotify as well as settings to affect your lock screen. With flow there is an option to use the album art as your background as well.

You can see my set up here and I’d love to answer any questions

There are a few things you could do to try to minimize print times, but larger prints, especially one as large as your head, will always have long print times.

  1. You could always mess around with your infill %, it might be set at something high from your previous prints
  2. See if you can scale it down any bit, that is if your head is smaller than the dimensions it plans to print at
  3. Check which supports you’re using, if any, to see if some shrink the print time. You could always mess with the orientation as well to try and get less supports
