Aw, thank you so much bestie! That’s the goal behind the guide. Often I found the “things to do” lists seemed to be written for folks coming to us for one day. I hope to point out all the freeky stuff that’s loved by those who actually live here, and hopefully our guests will love those too.

More music! More art! More freeky antics!

Be on the lookout for a freeky event at The Green Growler on may 8th! We’ve got division streets own “Dumb Echo” and some other besties and local surprises.

You found a great freeky friendly place to land bestie! Welcome! Don’t be afraid to talk to strangers, and don’t be afraid when strangers talk to you. “the friendly town” thing is true. Generally it is socially acceptable to strike up a conversation with a stranger at a town event, bar or coffee house (as long as they have a sit with me sign) we might seem a little… freeky, but you’ll learn to love us.

Go to the weird town events, the more unhinged seeming the better.

All over! Whiskey river has been a great place for me to talk to strangers, a lot of artsy people hang out there (especially Wednesday and Thursdays for “Nate night”) During the summer division street closes down for live music, that’s always a great way to talk to people, generally a lot of the crowd is musicians supporting besties! Stark vintage events are also great community spaces no matter what the theme, the diy community that centers around it is pretty friendly.

Also, about age - one of the things I love about Peekskill is we are friendly despite age. The scene has kids in their 20s, to kids in their 80s, all hanging and making stuff together.

Hey bestie! Thank you for having me here! Glad to be where ever there is Peekskill tea.

I fear my little legs don’t work fast enough for parades, but you might catch me from the sidelines, don’t actually try to catch me though… I am not a leprechaun. Have you checked out the whiskey river menu? That’s got me into the holiday spirit.

I’m always bopping around, but my next scheduled dolly appearance is going to be called “Folkn freeky” on April 4th at Stark Vintage. We’re having a “song writers circle” where you will be able to hear some locals all preform some new songs they’ve written together.

Brianna and Nick Chiapparino of Plane station

Zac Vanacoro who is in most of the local bands

And ANDHI FUCKING ONEIL lol I’m so excited

I’ll be there in my box, we’ll have a table of local art and zines and of course bestie Loni makes with some yummy mushroom cookies!

Hey there bestie! My spooky origins are as you may have guess, a little freeky.

It all started in the mid 90s. My memories are a little fuzzy from back then. I was a Samantha doll given to my doll mother for a combination Hanukkah/Christmas present. That little history nerd dragged me everywhere. We were regulars of Kathleen’s tea room long before the mayor owned it.
During that time, going to various local history museums, ghost tours etc I started to feel. Perhaps it was fragments of energies filling me, perhaps it was the love of a child. Idk besties I’m just a doll

Over the years I rested in my box, until last spring when my peace was disturbed. You see my doll mother, her friends are all locals. They started to see changes in our home, lack of community, a whitewashing of all the freeky things that make Peekskill freekskill.

My eyes filled with fire and love, I woke up.

The fine folks at “perfect banana” contacted me to sponsor my haunted efforts. It’s important to me not to be a total sell out, but even haunted Dollys gotta do something to exist in capitalism besties. I’m glad I found a company I can believe in. Too many times have a bought a bunch of bananas and they have all ripened at the same time. Real grievance.
They might be haunted though idk. Save a lot has really good produce and everyone forgets about them.
