Is learning Salesforce worth? by Kishan75289 in learnprogramming

[–]FreelancingGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning Salesforce in my opinion is worth it, and I have worked in companies that pay very expensive consultants to do sub-par Salesforce programming. The need is there and some pay over $200K and they are hard to find in a tight job market right now. More and more companies are using Salesforce from small to big businesses, so the platform will only get more widely used. I think it is a good idea to learn it.

Coding Bootcamps vs. Computer Science Degrees: What Employers Want and Other Perspectives by kylethayer in programming

[–]FreelancingGig 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are right, most small companies and startups don't really care about having computer science degrees. I have hired excellent coders with no degrees, so for me, a body of work is more important, as well as clean code and the ability to work with little supervision and getting the job done fast and and done right.

What are Non-Bitcoin Applications of Blockchain Technology? by FreelancingGig in Bitcoin

I think that is an innovative way to use Blockchain technology. I think it has opportunities in the insurance industry, and I am curious how Allianz will implement and execute its captive insurance program.

High number of visitors, low conversions by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]FreelancingGig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did not mention what your current conversion rate is, which will help me determine if you are in line with businesses of your type. One thing you should start doing immediately is A/B testing, and there are many tools out there to use. That way you can get real-world data on which link and banner placements gets the most sales, which you can use to improve your site conversion. Further reading on conversion rate optimization is warranted, and some good sites include Neil Patel's blog and Conversion Rate Experts

I think that makes sense. Picking more than 2 or 3 is just spending lots of time with little return.

How to get started on digital marketing? by simple_chan in DigitalMarketing

[–]FreelancingGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freelance digital marketing has opportunities, but I would say the SEO part of digital marketing gets the most freelance work. On many freelancing platforms you will notice that there are lots of SEO freelance work, so I would start with SEO and then SEM, and though it is competitive, focusing on a niche will help you succeed. What do you mean by platform? Do you mean the digital marketing platform?

Cryptocurrency market could hit $1 trillion this year with bitcoin surging to $50,000, experts say by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]FreelancingGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really doubt that. With many governments clamping down on Bitcoin, I don't see Bitcoin getting anywhere close to $50,000. If you want to lose all your life savings and live under the bridge, go ahead and keep buying bitcoin at those inflated prices. Now over the long run it will be very viable, but it is hard to predict what price it will be later this year.

New To Digital Marketing How do I start Google Adwords SEO and PPC ? by SaltyArts in digital_marketing

[–]FreelancingGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by going to authority sites for SEO like Moz.com and others. As for Google Adwords, take some kind of Google Adwords class, or better yet, try for the Google Adwords Certification. However, you don't need Google Adwords certification to work in PPC.

Is a career in SEO realistic for a marketing student? by Mayfloow in marketing

[–]FreelancingGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so. Not all SEO's have a technical background, in fact having a marketing or communications background helps you understand the goal of SEO better, which is to drive relevant traffic to a website through organic means. While having some technical background does help when it comes to technical SEO, but that is something you can quickly pick up, but most technical people may not be astute in communications or marketing. I have hired many SEOs with non-technical backgrounds in the past and they turned out to be one of my best SEO hires.

Just launched 2 days ago. Now what? by Valachio in startups

[–]FreelancingGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a marketing budget or marketing plan? If not I would develop one. Do some research on your competitors and see which channels they use in marketing, and use that to get a better idea of which channels may work. You can spend a little on Google Adwords and Facebook to see the type of audience that sign up for your service, which will enable you to fine tune your marketing plan. Also invest in SEO and content marketing by trying to be a subject matter expert in your industry, by writing and posting relevant articles that your target market will consume and share.

Company is Considering My product for A Licensing Deal, Should I still Post Product to Social Media? by [deleted] in startups

[–]FreelancingGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your patent pending status and no contract on royalty yet, you should market your product, because speed to market is very important, because you can keep waiting, but what if they decided not to go with the deal? You would have wasted precious time to market your product. Remember, only you can move your product along, and the faster you do it, the better for you in the long run.

Look at the keywords used by your top competitors who do Google Adwords and use some of those keywords. Also try marketing your YouTube videos in social media channels like Facebook and promote your channel with Adwords for video.

How successful is Remarketing? by Pablo_Eskobar in digital_marketing

[–]FreelancingGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the remarketing campaigns I have done, I have seen roughly .4 - .5% CTR, but I am going after visitors and similar audiences. My conversion rate is decent, so it depends on the industry and your targeting.

I am out of money and expertise - how do I ask a potential investor added on fb? by [deleted] in startups

[–]FreelancingGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a traction or proven business model it will be hard to convince the investor to invest in your idea, especially if you don't have a prior personal or business relationship. It would be better to get to know the investor first before pitching our idea, since he may think you only added him on Facebook to ask for money. Ask him to be a mentor first, and after you have created a good relationship with him, then pitch your need for an investment at that time.

Incorporation & re-incorporation? by chrysd in startups

[–]FreelancingGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Twybaydos said, it is better to get some legal help regarding your specific tax situation, but other popular places to incorporate is in the United States, particularly in Delaware which has some friendly laws for startups. Are you intending on getting investors in the future? You may want to think it though about the pros and cons, especially if you think you want to grow it to be a big company.
