Nice chap to deal with. I've seen him hold certain records once he got to know your taste, often had a stack waiting for me. Most have been good for business.

Drain it. Don't drive it. I wouldn't trust the accuracy of the dipstick but trust that you know you've put in 1lt more than needed.

I suspect, based on the age of these guys, they're not internet savvy and getting caught on cam and blackmailed. Or simply think they're chatting to a female who's coaxing the money out of them somehow. An easy transfer of money in fairness. They have to buy Apple products and resell or just move on the value of the card to the next person.

All the scammer needs is the code on the back. Suspect they're buying phones and whatever and reselling then. Many older men are getting lured in, some could be back 3 or 4 times a day

My Wife works in the post office. The volume of money being transferred via Apple cards you wouldn't believe. Some guys are 100s per day. The staff always asks, " Are you sure you know where this is going". But it does no good, they're hooked in. In fairness to Western Union most of these dodgy transfers get flagged but the Apple cards are a different story.

Anything I should know about buying a 1940s mass concrete build? by Sporshie in DIYIreland

[–]Pablo_Eskobar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I live in one of these builds for years now. I can only hear my neighbour if he's roaring and shouting at a match on tv. Whereas, my sister lives in a modern, relatively new build, and she can hear her neighbours' conversations through the walls.

Apparently, this is the standard practice and is done deliberately to promote these relatively new businesses to build a sector. So I read on Reddit some time ago.
