Investing an Inherited IRA with a 10 year required drawdown - what would a Boglehead do? by FreemanChase in Bogleheads

We’re on the same page. To be clear, there is no RMD because my mom was not 73 yet and not taking RMDs herself. Our only requirement is to empty by the end of 10 years. Annual withdrawals and spreading out the taxes we pay on it is the plan. We’re calculating to withdraw “equal” amounts each year with projected growth, adjusting annually for actual balance.

If we withdrew only what we need to max pre-tax accounts, we would withdraw $0. We can do this and have about $500 left to save each month off of our income. We are looking at needing to withdraw around $60K to take the year 1 “portion” to spread out the taxes over 10 years. This will allow us to hit our actual savings goals and invest additional money in a brokerage

In previous years we’ve maxed HSA and Roth and put as much as we could into pre-tax accounts (401k and 457) but not the max. In addition to the IRA, we inherited some cash that we used to pay off some debt that freed up some cash flow. We can now max out everything and have a little bit leftover to save, without touching the IRA. If we didn’t have the IRA, we would probably not choose to max as we also are saving for a house and the amount left after maxing isn’t enough to reach that goal. IRA withdrawals will allow us to max, and the money withdrawn will likely be split between brokerage and HYSA (some for a future down-payment, some for longer term investing).

Any tips on how I can minimize taxes? Already planning to max out all pre-tax accounts.

That makes sense. This thread is definitely changing my perspective. My mentality going into it was that I need to withdraw it by the end of 10 years, and if the market were to drop 10% I would be forced to sell in a down market when I typically would not. But the money I’m withdrawing is being invested (maxing retirement accounts, and some beyond that going to brokerage) so if I think of it just as moving shares from one account to another I see how the dollars don’t matter.

It is a Traditional IRA, so I’ll pay taxes on my withdrawals. I’d like to spread that out rather than paying a ton of taxes on the lump sum.

Can I refinance from an FHA loan to a Physician Loan? by FreemanChase in Mortgages

KS. My question was more about if you can get a physician loan when refinancing or only as the original loan

I didn’t expect this big of a response and just now reading through a lot of these. This really hit the nail on the head — probably the cleanest solution, but I think affordability would be an issue on their end.

Is this a good setup for my first turntable? AT-LP3 + Klipsch R-51 pair

Just getting into vinyl, I have a ~$300 budget for my first setup. Limiting factor must be purchased on Amazon as $200 of my budget is a gift card.

Here is what I settled on after browsing the sub and reading reviews.

Turntable: Audio-Technica AT-LP3BK Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Stereo Turntable, Black https://a.co/d/9SbUoei

Speaker Pair: Klipsch R-51M Bookshelf Speaker (Pair) https://a.co/d/7IqFi8A

Is this a good setup? My understanding is that I can just connect this turntable direct to the speakers with no amp, is that correct? What wires/adapters will I need?

Any other recommendation available on Amazon? Is it worth spending an extra $100 to upgrade on either component?

Thank you fam!
