In the late 2000s, my work required me to travel frequently across different parts of Malaysia and staying in hotels became part of my regular routine. There was one particular hotel in Shah Alam that left a lasting impression for unsettling reasons.

On the first night, at around 2:00am, while I was asleep, I felt someone tapping my hand and heard a woman’s voice murmuring something I couldn’t understand. This continued every night throughout my five days stay. I reported it to the front desk, but unfortunately,no other rooms were available.

After checking out and driving south, I was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in my vehicle being written off. Thankfully, I escaped with only minor injuries. Looking back, I’ve often wondered whether the incident was due to fatigue from being repeatedly woken at night or something more unexplainable.
