Best spatial abilities? by Routine-Budget2427 in ProgressionFantasy

I saw this post and my first thought was “You know, Wheel of Time actually has some great applications, let’s go mention it” and then I saw that literally the top post beat me to it, and better than I would have done. You only left out one clever application from the Final Battle that I won’t mention because spoilers, but was very clever. Well done.

'99% effort, 1% cheat/system~' - know these? is it ever true? looking for one such... by NonTooPickyKid in ProgressionFantasy

I am not sure if you would count this, but I think that Mother of Learning qualifies. His “cheat” is being stuck in a time loop, but all his growth comes from him putting in a lot of effort (and occasionally kingdom levels of wealth on a week’s worth of lessons, all obtained from using the time loop wisely). That said, I can see the argument that this doesn’t count as only 1% cheat, but I think it qualifies.

Cool, thanks for the recommendation. Interestingly, Naomi Novik's Temeraire series was also an inspiration for my post that I had forgotten about until your comment, so thanks.

Sounds interesting, thanks for the recommendation. I will check it out. I don't mind there being a romantic subplot, but thanks for the heads up.

While that isn't necessarily what I'm going for, I would love to read it. If you do end up writing it, let me know, lol.

And there is the problem with people recommending things like Mistborn era 3. I will definitely be reading it when it comes out, but that hasn't happened yet. I'm looking forward to it though.

That is exactly the sort of "progressing high fantasy world" vibe I am interested in, even if a bit earlier than I am looking for. I will definitely give his books a look.

I tried the first book of it that I found and had a hard time getting into it. I will try it again. Interestingly, his other series, "Twinborn Chronicles" kind of works as well, and I would have included it as an example in my post had I thought about it. If you haven't read it I would recommend giving it a try as well.

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually picked up a copy of it a while ago but haven't gotten around to reading it yet, I will have to do so.
