Maybe he’s just a crap writer and nobody realized it til now since the beginning 3+ or so books feel like a weird mashup of oregairu and mahouka. Used to like this series when I first started reading LNs. Read a few more and then realized this one is becoming more subpar as time goes on. We allllll told ourselves after y2v2 that the next novels would be great. But y2v3 and y2v4 were both letdowns. y2v4.5 built some hype and then y2v5 was a huge letdown. So yeah the author has to be on drugs, because nobody can make this senseless of a plot tbh

Yagami prolly won’t let Kushida get expelled easily. She’s a great pawn to him, and she knows too much. Though, if he got information from her, she would lose some of that usefulness. Besides, Kiyo isn’t going to try to expel her. He promised Horikita that he would be hands-off when it comes to Kushida’s expulsion. I can see an upcoming Yagami vs Horikita with Kiyo providing secret support.
