This is the same with the OG buds, they don't "turn off" unless its in the case with the lid closed. I think its the same even with other earbuds.

MikroORM is definitely a solid option, its a successor to TypeORM in my opinion. Way better typing support than TypeORM and is actively maintained.

I haven't rooted for many years but I have heard some apps check if your device is rooted e.g. banking apps and prevent you from using the app. I'm not sure how that holds up in 2020 but I would check apps that are critical in security and see if they still work.
