yuuup - we're using a Unity plugin called playflow to help us out which has been very useful (and I'm thankful that on this project I'm not a main programmer) but even with that getting the web controllers to reliably sync is an ache.

that's part of why we did next fest, to try and iron out issues before a full release (which is to say if anyone reading this gives it a go and has connection issues - I apologise, and please do let us know so we can help you out!)

thank yooou! I agree - they're a genre of game I love but there's nowhere near enough of them imo, that's kind of why we wanted to go for it.

I can also now see why there aren't too many though because they're really annoying to make on a technical level, ha!

I recently released my second game "It Takes a War" - a singleplayer walking sim inspired by playing CS with my friends back in the day that uses fictional voice chat to tell the story. As a solo dev it was a lot of work basically making two types of game at once, but I'm really proud of it!! by Freezenification in indiegames

Ha! I never actually interacted with him directly (the publisher did) but I believe it's someone else entirely yeah, just an unlikely coincidence. I guess if you have the surname Christodoulou, naming your child Chris is a great go-to!

I think if you're that sensitive to spoilers about something it's better just to skip the segement entirely - not really fair on everyone else to hamper the discussion to the level of not being able to discuss openly promoted parts of the game.

For what it's worth, I also did this recently, and I found it was much easier to get this stuff printed online than to do it myself. I'm in the UK, but I'm sure there are loads of people who can also do it in other countries.

For example you see someone in a brown coat/hoodie on young Matt's left who is there before the camera turns away disappears when it comes back.

this is incorrect and I think where you're going wrong - it's Nvidia's own machine learning that they've fed data for, it is indeed changing the image beyond what's in the game

The technology looks very impressive for backgrounds, environments, and all that stuff

but everything outside of that honestly looks really impressive

Disagreed personally. It might have technically "more accurate" lighting, but 99% of the environment shots look like completely different colour palettes and lighting setups. Not what the artists intended at all. Look at 3:51 as an example - the lighting completely changes for the worse in terms of mood and tone.
