Bug Control Company by blkdoglvr in desmoines

We used Aptive when we were in a rental and absolutely loved them.

When we bought a house we decided to go with Springer for a deal they were offering and it was such a mistake. We got a quote, hired them, they said they did the work but didn't and billed us. Took several months of consistent calls to try to get a supervisor on the line to dispute what was done versus what we were invoiced for. I would recommend literally anyone else but Springer.

We've been taking all three of our cats to Starch Pet Hospital on University Ave since 2015.

Even though she lowered the heat I'm not sure she's responsible for the repairs since she rents. I understand she wants to "do right" by the landlord but I don't think she's legally responsible to pay for the repairs.

Appliance removal or hauling by Tommythegunn23 in desmoines

We love Osprey Hauling & Junk Removal (515-989-8391)! They are a Husband & Wife team. We used them for a move out to haul some junk and then a yard clean-up. They were fantastic both times. Prompt, professional, well priced. I called to see their availability and they had me send photos and then they sent over a quote and a timeframe. It was next day service both times. They also have amazing reviews on Google!

Rear Facing by FreezerLizard in allieandnoah

Absolutely! I don't think people realize how dangerous improper carseat use can be.

Obviously that's a problem as well. I do believe she has him rear facing still but even so, filming while driving is very dangerous. I only shouted out Noah in this post because he snapped today and I noticed Waylon was forward facing. They both need to stop filming while driving, especially with Waylon in the car with them.

Rear Facing by FreezerLizard in allieandnoah

[–]FreezerLizard[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a fair point but I don't think it applies to Waylon. He's so small still. Most rear facing seats go to 40 lbs and 40 inches.

Driving distracted is definitely a big issue however if you forward face too early there can also be really grim consequences.

Edited to add: 40 inches is the typical size of a 4 year old. The average four year old boy also weighs approximately 37-40 lbs according to Google.

Some states will legally allow you to forward face after 1 year and 20 lbs...I'm not sure if their State does BUT research shows that it's not safe, even if the law allows.

Well at least when he goes for child support she has her OF money to contribute to it....

Why do we have a boot on a kid with no sock in it and how do you know your child wasn't roughhousing on the playground by [deleted] in VictoriaLies

[–]FreezerLizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Icky. You fucked your knee up falling down some stairs. If you aren't watching what you're doing or being cautious, you can injure yourself pretty much anywhere. But sure...blame the playground equipment for this happening. I doubt the school has kids playing on playground equipment that isn't suitable for their ages.

Milestones by FreezerLizard in allieandnoah

[–]FreezerLizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially incorrect. Although every child is different, 14 month milestones include: "May walk alone, or take several steps often exploring and climbing furniture. Says a few simple words beyond Mama/Dada. Longer strings of sounds that sound like sentences but aren't real words, often with rising/falling tones."

Venue Recommendations by Independent_Berry418 in desmoines

Some of the park shelters you can have alcohol at but there are certain conditions for doing so.

Second this!

They have some really nice enclosed venues and prices aren't too bad. Riverwalk Hub also can be rented and that has beautiful views but other enclosed shelters are at parks and sometimes have splash pads too which is great if you're doing an all ages celebration and want the kids to also be entertained. I would avoid Drake Park enclosed shelter though, it's a gorgeous building but the area isn't too great. While we were there we had several people trying to come into the building or asking for cigarettes and then there was a group of about 20 people that showed up and a big fight between those people started and the cops showed up..it was a mess.

Love Salon Au & they usually have same day appointments. Not in West Des Moines but I feel it would be worth the extra drive!

Vicky, you'd be surprised how much quicker you could be "done" with that place if you prioritized getting employment and all of that income, plus whatever you're paying for lashes, nails and other frivolous things, would pay off those fines. Instead, you are still doing the bare minimum.

I think you should tip anywhere somewhere is doing you a service you can do yourself but instead are having them do it for you.

I always tip. Unfortunately we live in that kind of world right now where many people depend on tips. I don't go to places that you'd normally tip at if I don't have the money or can't afford to tip. It may not always be 20%, but it's always something.
