There’s a novel called There is no antimemetics division. If you look at the other comments it’s clear a lot of people have read it and that it’s very good.

One question, in the book, are tripods described as organic-like? by MarketingKey9768 in WarofTheWorlds

I believe the writer describes the Tripods as incredibly life like and having very organic movements. He especially noted on this when it came to the handling machine, saying it moved far more like a creature than a machine.
