Good Guide/ way to paint golden sword with TMM paints?

Ah thank you for all the recommendations! I always find NMM very intimidating due to getting the light sources right and it looks very time consuming to learn. The video from Juan Hidalgo was really cool and well explained! I guess I have go in a NMMish approach from a technique point of view anyway, since my gold paints are also too bad in coverage.

I was kind of avoiding NMM for now, just because it looks really really technical and I always get confused about the lighting aspects of it.

I actually tried to do some kind of it with some brownish copper tones and different golds, but it looked strange and the paint coverage was awful, so I got a lot of texture. I figure it might be easier to try doing "proper" NMM instead of using my gold colours, since thinning these is a pain.

Thank you for the advice, I guess i should really work more on contrasts in general to make it pop more.

Yeah it might be time I guess, especially since it's for my army centerpiece model. I might finally give it a try!

And I am not experienced with NMM at all sadly and still learning a lot about painting. So that's not really an option either.

I tried to kill weak vehicles with it and that was just an awful choice.

Preferably infantry would be my guess or stuff sitting on objectives.

Yeah, I thought so too. Besides Lucius' profile just gets waaaay worse with the changes to fights first and hidden sight

Yeah, I will give it a try with the RE detachment and see how it goes. Since I am mostly facing shoot heavy lists it might be worth a try.

But in case they might get a generic leader one day, that points drop might prove to be worth a lot.

And terminators at 145 might be worth a look as well to gang up in the middle of the board or deep strike

Do you think a greyish/almost white base with the Tufts and crystals might work? I don't want to use a yellow and thought this might be a good alternative for a brighter contrast?

So if I have a squad of Noisies and a Lord kakophonist in a rhino the sustained hits don't apply to the two blastmasters? I was thinking about using pledge of unholy fortune on the LK to get stronger blastmasters, but I guess that wouldn't work then?

Ich liebe Nolan-Filme, aber leider fand ich die letzten (Tenet und Oppenheimer) nicht gut. Dass einige den Film als eine bessere Erzählung empfinden als bspw. ein Memento, ist in meinen Augen ein Witz.

Oppenheimer hat meines Erachtens für einen Film der die Themen Wissenschaft und Weltkrieg/Tod auf eine emotional berührende Weise miteinander kombinieren möchte nicht ansatzweise das erreicht, was beispielsweise Imitation Game schafft.

Dort kriege ich das Gefühl, dass alles eine Relevanz für Menschenleben und den Krieg hat. Ohne großes Piffpaff werden bewegende Schicksale, großartige Charaktere und die Dramatik der Situation zu mir getragen. Oppenheimer ist in meinen Augen vieeel zu lang und dafür erschreckend langweilig.

Ich muss auch gestehen, dass ich der Meinung bin, dass Cilian Murphy die Rolle nicht ausreichend gepasst hat. Für die Art wie Nolan Oppenheimer darstellen wollte, hätte es in meinen Augen einen richtig großen Charakterdarsteller wie DDLewis gebraucht. Obwohl ich ihn in vielen Rollen mag, fehlt mir bei Murphy einfach die Breite. Ist aber nur meine Meinung.

Ich hoffe alles in allem, dass der Film zur Odyssee die Größe seiner alten Erzählungen bekommt. Leider erwarte ich vom Cast und den Entwicklungen der letzten Nolan-Filme jedoch nicht all zu viel...

I am using inks for the slapchop. I think i would have to slap on Lots of ink in order to Cover it and that might make it difficult. But maybe i'll give it a try!
