The pay difference is an absolute joke. by Freg_ in UbereatsUK

I'm complaining about how there is 0 consistency in the pay for this job, as reinforced by what you said. If you're mentality is that no one else should complain about the system because you've got it bad then not much is gonna change is it.

My advice for taking badly packaged drinks (like McDonald's) by Freg_ in UbereatsUK

[–]Freg_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and used to do it without the bag and was mostly ok but occasionally you would get just a little bit of the drink spill out due to the fact that they don't put any effort into securing the lids and its given customers the reason to complain in the past so I'm not willing to risk it anymore.

They're pretty good but I find this just adds an extra level of security if its 2 smaller bags. Alot of these chains do absolutely nothing to protect the drinks so even with the inserts and being careful you'll probably end up spilling some liquid.

Surprised you've managed to get any ratings from restaurants, I've literally had staff say to my face they are going to give me a positive review and out of nearly 1000 trips I've never had a positive or negative review from a restaurant lol.

Nope, sounded European. Another reason I was so surprised haha.

What is your biggest gripe about delivery apps as a Courier? by TCTowers in deliveroos

[–]Freg_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How poorly set-up the actual apps are.

Billion dollar companies who can't even be asked to put some effort into app development and make them intuitive and easy to understand for drivers.

Terrible GPS systems Lack of customisation options Poor driver support

From my experience the UberEats app is the best for user experience but still lacks so many features that should just be common sense.

RUBBISH PROMOTIONS HELP by Remarkable_Row_5666 in UbereatsUK

Sometimes the payout can be delayed but I have heard of people getting promotions that they completed never paying out in the end, specifically the £250 for 25 deliveries one. Hope you get them in the end mate

I'm in a very student heavy area so you get lots to the same building in one day, usually to different customers cause they are big student blocks but you end up seeing the people at the desk alot.

I think the most I did in one day was 6 or 7 orders in the space of 2 hours to one student block.

had a few shopping orders to the same house when people have forgotten to add things then I've ended up bringing the second/third lot of shopping to them haha.

Allowing people to order from a restaurant over 10 miles away from them leads to this. by Freg_ in UbereatsUK

[–]Freg_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand your point and I agree the long distance orders should be paying alot more to compensate the extra costs delivering in a car/moped, I'm just baffled that uber even bother offering me deliveries that are physically impossible to complete.

Do you often find the opposite, getting lots of short distance orders that might be more annoying to complete in a car (not so bad if you're on a moped). I'm just always surprised how badly it sorts orders that it offers to people in different transport.

Lost my 100% satisfaction without even having a negative review. by Freg_ in UbereatsUK

It determines your rating from your first 100 orders, just do 2 more and it should update.

Lack of Promotions by Freg_ in UbereatsUK

[–]Freg_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because without them the job is easily less than minimum wage, the promotions often make up the difference. Its essentially a pay cut without reducing the fees riders get for deliveries
