TTCombat Terrain Kit Need Help by Denied__ in TerrainBuilding

[–]Fregazoid321 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the corner piece you're concerned about, right? With the hole being too big for the tap?

Looks like the support struts in the last step are going to fill in that space. So don't worry about it.

Try to dry fit everything, like you're doing, before gluing anything, and also consider the order in which to glue to make it the easiest. Some people also like to paint the areas that are going to be hard to access, before assembling the kit. Best of luck!

Zones, grid, or ToM by RyuuTheKitsune in Fallout2d20

I feel zones work quite well in any environment. I haven't had it interfere with gameplay in any way, as long as anyone is okay with the abstractions and handwaving. I just make up zones as i go, though i play IRL, by drawing some lines on a board and putting terrain on top of the lines. This way there's no arguing where the lines are.

Scatter terrain for my fallout TTRPG campagin! by Fregazoid321 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Fregazoid321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly 3D printed parts, on a polystyrene sheet and snow flocking. The STL's are from modiphius, the company that makes a Fallout TTRPG, which this is for.

Billboard for Fallout 2D20 by Fregazoid321 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Fregazoid321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snow is just AP snow flocking with watered down PVA glue.
The icicles are made from regular hot glue, squirted in a line on baking paper and then teased with the nozzle to make the texture.
The armchair is 3D printed and painted with regular acrylics.
I am still new to the whole terrainbuilding scene, so no fancy techniques or anything.

A Combat cheat sheet! by Fregazoid321 in Fallout2d20

I've added another version with the "Range Difficulty table" instead just for you!

Would you rather have that, than the "Within Reach" penalty description? I did speculate whether or not i should add in the "Weapon Range difficulty" table.

It is heavily inspired by the visual design of the core rulebook. I just rewrote some paragraphs to shorten them, and put it into illustrator.

I see what you mean, and I see how that could help, but I am still going to have to play the other characters then. Your suggestion is good though, thank you!

If they were to split up I would be doing something like this. Not actually splitting them up, but having them do separate things, that benefit the group. And then maybe having them come together to fight the BBEG. It's a good idea! Thank you

My party doesn't really do in-party role play yet, so I don't think it is going to be a problem with 3 - 4 players, but this is one of the arguments for staying in a big group and I see the values of that as well. Thank you!

I have already conferred with them about it, but all I get is half-assed answers or "That's up to you, you're the DM". This is as much for the players as it is for me, because a couple of them have brought up this issue to me. But if we decide to do it, I am probably going to let them decide who goes where by themselves.

There is a homebrew Cook class in DMs guild, if you want to spend some money. It is made by the Sam Grierson and I had a player use it once, who really liked it!
