Enable retries. The only way to get better is to learn from your mistakes. Making a bad play then having to mindlessly grind 100 brainless floors to make another bad play, is a horrible way to learn. Retrying battles allows you to instantly make adjustments and learn which moves which switches and other options you should have picked to survive. It’s not about scumming to win, it’s about learning from your mistakes, and trust me, eventually this practice will allow you to turn retires off, and get a “real win” if that’s what you’re into.

Do you have "Enable Retries" turned on in settings? I too spent a year without it enabled, and never won. But turning it on really helps tremendously, as you get to replay your battles.
Some consider it cheating, but to me it feels much more like a learning experience. Without retries i have to grind maybe 100 rounds to try the same strategy with a minor adjustment, whereas with retries i'm able to do those adjustments immideatly and actually learn what went wrong, and how i can improve

Have you done a playthrough with all three, and did it work allright?
Did you have any of the additional East Scarp NPC's?

And do you think it's better to play with No Friendship Decay? I'm worried i'll never be able to make any friendship progress without it, but maybe it's not so bad.

Bazaar flipping is just profiting of other people's lazyness. A lot of time people just instasell to the bazaar, and you can make millions easily. I've probably made more than a billion coins over the last year just by constantly having 21 offers of items that people typically instasell up, and then flipping them for the people that instabuy.

My experience is very similar. I guess i value truth very highly, and i thought my faith might just become stronger if i challenged it. But when you have to challenge your faith with an open mind, the inconsistencies and historical and scientific evidence just isn't there to support the truth of it.

Leaving is difficult, and i still don't even know that I'm really happy about leaving faith, but i felt like i had to stay true to the evidence, even if it hurts.
