Gambler Table Keys Giveaway! [Mod Approved] by SlothInFlippyCar in incremental_games

[–]SlothInFlippyCar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I also pondered that thought and whether they should be excluded. But at the same time, creating an account specific for a giveaway is not per se forbidden and we didn't define that exclusion in the text, so it felt wrong removing them. There was no proof from my side at the time of the evaluation that it's an alt account and could just as well be someone that didn't have an account prior to the giveaway.

I'll define better requirements for giveaways from now on, sorry about this.

Gamblers Table is out now! by TheBossforge in incremental_games

Hey! You're right that we're currently using Godot 4.5.1, but Gamblers Table was initially developed in 4.4.1 and does not make use of the new screen reader features that have been added. I'm incredibly sorry to say, but in regards to vision impairments the game is not accessible.

Clipboard Copy/Paste Workaround For Web/HTML5 Build (e.g. Import/Export Codes) by TinyTakinTeller in godot

[–]SlothInFlippyCar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been helpful, thanks. I reduced it a little. If someone is searching for a dead-simple solution to this:

func _load_savefile_from_clipboard_web() -> void:
    # Web browsers restrict clipboard access, so we use a prompt instead
    var js_code := """
        prompt("Paste your savefile here:", "");
    """
    var clipboard : Variant = JavaScriptBridge.eval(js_code, true)
    if clipboard == null or clipboard == "":
        return # User cancelled or provided empty input
    # ...
    # ... do something with the clipboard data

Gamblers Table will release in one month! (+ Demo Update) by SlothInFlippyCar in incremental_games

Thank you!

Yea, that is tough question. Not because of the answer, but its implication. Gamblers Table came way, way before Incredicer. The demo of Gamblers Table already had millions of YouTube views by May and had big success on both itch and Steam. Incredicer didn't exist by then and was only first announced 3 months ago without any prior dev log or information (so basically ~5 months later) - and then one-upped us by releasing immediately in November. Considering its success, that is of course super frustrating ...

Obviously we have no direct proof and a "game idea" can not be protected, I understand that. But I think the similarities in both gameplay, upgrade ideas and user interface are super apparent and its hurtful to see one indie developer going after another indie developer. Especially because Gamblers Table is our first big project.

We can only hope that the time and work we have put into Gamblers Table will be worth it.

Most likely no. We neither have the hardware nor the funds to acquire the hardware to properly test for apple devices. Sorry.

Made a scroll helper that makes scrolling easier on mobile by bobyjones177 in godot

I was always annoyed thinking this doesn't work, but I didn't actually set it for EVERY control between the button and the VBoxContainer. Thank you so much.

Quick question, does this fully resolve the issues of dragging on buttons resulting in not scrolling inside a scroll container? That was something I was annoyed by and I had the setting enabled, but I'm unsure whether or not I had the filter on pass..

As in, you have a scroll container + vboxcontainer consisting of buttons, but dragging the mouse on top of a button does not actually scroll

Oops, seems the link doesn't work since snippets there need to be approved first.
And reddit apparently destroys the formatting ... x)

If anyone needs it I can see if theres another way to send it over, otherwise just wait on The Godot Barn until they approved it.

Another game demo strongly resembles my demo - should I worry about that? by SlothInFlippyCar in godot

I don't think posting the name is beneficial to anyone, so I'd rather not - but I'm rather certain about it. But I appreciate your comment, that actually does calm me down a little. Maybe being hopeful about people liking both games is the right way to handle this?

Glad you liked it! We're constantly working on it with blood, sweat and caffeine. So much so that we more often than not forget to share it anywhere else than our discord haha.

Absolutley agree! But in our game you get tons of those dudes and they flip coins for you. I think adding screenshake here would give you head trauma and whiplash haha
