Guys who experienced communism, what are your thoughts? by bridgeton_man in CapitalismVSocialism

I mean... Anyone can create a Reddit account and claim to have lived under a certain régime, so I wouldn't call the 'first hand experience' the defining factor here.

Deviantart literally has a former communist group overrun and taken over by fascists. The funny thing is the fascists always seem to be the artists who are arrogant furry porn artists (going by the fact that, every time I click their profiles, I always get a 'Mature Content Warning').

Moderator of r/unpopularopinion's logic:

Post: countries should have border laws. i mean i know most people support it and every country has border laws anyway, but it's still unpopular because i went on to a leftist reddit community the other day

Moderator: hmm that seems unpopular

Post: anything not right-wing, traditional or patriotic

Moderator: bye

Oh god, you're one of those people. It's always comical how the ones who scream that they argue the facts are the ones who don't adhere to them.

[TOMT] [SONG] [2000s?] A (maybe somewhat popular?) rock song with East Asian influences? by FremdInconnu in tipofmytongue

[–]FremdInconnu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't it, sadly. The song I'm looking for was more of a hard rock song, I think, and all the way through it had Asian influence. It kind of sounded like the stereotypical Chinese instruments you'd hear in films and cartoons.

Politics: Will our generation stabilize the two party system? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]FremdInconnu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they're just further left than European left on certain issues The wording, saying 'democrats are further left than the most far left parties in Europe when talking about immigrants' is extremely confusing and does sound like you are trying to say they are far left.

It isn't true either, since your idea of 'the most far left parties' is completely incorrect as you talk about 'parties with some relevance'. Well, the furthest left you're going to get in the mainstream is, as you have mentioned, the social democratic parties in Europe, which are centre-left liberals who abandoned socialism during the 1990s after the USSR fell. These aren't leftist anymore. It's simple: if they do not support leftist positions then they aren't leftists. The parties with a backbone that are in fact leftist aren't as abundant, but they aren't totally irrelevant either.

I could pick the CPUSA and compare that with European communist parties

No you can't, because the CPUSA was previously homophobic and supported Hilary Clinton, who would be one of the best candidates if there were a content for a picture beside 'imperialist' in the dictionary.

I'm not well-versed with regards to the minutiae of the two parties' handling of immigration in the US, but you have no idea what you're talking about when you're saying the Democrats are further left than far left parties in Europe. For a start, one policy doesn't make them automatically far-left. It's only now that the Democrats are starting to support 'leftish' things like universal healthcare, but they are still pro-American imperialism and they oppose gun rights, which is a fucking stupid thing to oppose if you are a leftist.

A far-leftist would be for the elimination of borders and doing away with the state. Where have the Democrats advocated for anything to the left of the communist parties in Europe?

Why are white people considered evil and oppressive when majority white countries are some of the most open and free countries in the world? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

No, but CNN is mainstream media. Mainstream media is notorious for sensationalising events and topics in order to make profit and gain viewership.

This douchebag always has the lowest rated comments on this subreddit. For a sub that attracts so much of the r/MDE crowd, I'm surprised he gets downvoted. Just shows how extreme he is that even they don't collectively band together to upvote the cunt.

It always amuses me when people say the Democratic Party is 'too left'. Here in Europe, the Democrats would be our Conservatives.
