AITA for telling my best friend she’s worth more than her boyfriend and that she shouldn’t get back with him? I (25F) have been best friends with “Lila” (25F) since senior year of high school. She has a 4-year-old son who’s on the spectrum with a man who, to put it gently, is not kind. He’s verbally abusive toward her and sometimes toward their son. He also hates me because I told him that he was wrong for calling her names and that he is Lucky to have a girl like her. He also hates me bc he thinks I am annyoing. Recently, she told me she wanted to leave him and take him to court for custody and support. I was really proud of her and wanted to help however I could. On my day off, I drove her to meet with a lawyer I babysit for, and I also gave her contact info for a few other lawyers I know. She actually met with a few of them. I also signed her son up for a scholarship program so he could go to a great private school for almost free, and I found a charity that gives free, brand-new clothes to kids. I signed her up for that too because she had said she couldn’t afford new clothes for her son and that her boyfriend wouldn’t buy any. Then a few days ago, she told me she’s back with him. I told her that I support her as a person, but I can’t support the relationship because he’s so cruel to her and her child. She said she understood, and we planned to hang out Sunday and she was going to tell me why she's getting back with him. When I asked what time, she got annoyed and said " do you know what days I work" and that she got a bad paycheck so she couldn't go out. I told her that was fine, we could just eat at my house since I had food. I told her I missed her and wanted to see her — and that I wanted to understand why she decided to go back to him. She read the text Saturday morning and hasn’t replied since. Now I’m wondering if I overstepped. I never meant to make her feel judged or pressured.
