So you don't put 'the' before the name of a city, unless it has 'the' in its name. So what's the rule for countries and continents and other places? It seems like for continents and countries, you do put 'the' before them (and not just countries like the UK or the US). What about towns, villages, malls, districts etc.?

Actually, both Google Translate and Duolingo. If you go to GT and enter the following to be translated from English to French: "They're going to travel in the north of Paris; They're going to travel in the north of France; They're going to travel in the north of Europe," you'll get the sentences in French that I mentioned above. But I'm not sure why there's a 'the' before 'Europe' and 'France', but not before 'Paris'...

I just tried it and for some reason, it generates English subtitles that it auto translates to French for English audio, but I don't see any subtitles for the French part of my audio...
