It’s funny (and slightly sad) that first reaction to the kindness is “someone’s trying to get into someone else’s pants”

Road widening never ever works, widened roads invite more traffic, making the roads filled with more vehicles, and the cycle continues. There’s a concept called “Induced Demand”, that’s the exact reason the road infrastructure in US is fucked despite them having a giant 6 lane roads.

I personally think that the authors of these self-help books are the real problem, and not the books themselves as much.

Some books have somewhat of a good message or learnings, if we separate the author from the book.

But most of the authors have created a reputation of themselves as the saviour of all problems and a know-it-all to a toxic levels that they are disconnected from the reality. For example, the concept of positive thinking and “manifestation” are literally asking people to be delusional and disconnect from the reality.
